Josh K.
Well here's an update :) Started mocking up harness. It's gonna be a little crazy... Here's all the info I gotta bring together as one.. Yikes... Should be fine ;) I'll have an engine harness (plugs into the bulkhead connector) and a body harness when it's all said and done. Hopefully it all works :) Should fit nice here: I'll retrim the glove box so just the flashers/relay and fuses are showing. Mess... New wires.. More mess to clean up. Replacing it all. Dash stand ;) should make rewiring the dash easier. That's all for now. 2 Quote Link to comment

Lockleaf
Unacceptable! Lead lined cover so even passengers with Xray vision are unable to see it is the only reasonable solution to this problem. 2 Quote Link to comment
thisismatt
Hide the fuses and relays... Cause josh is rapin' err'body? Quote Link to comment
tr8er
I thought you were talking about cutting up the door to expose the fuses and relays... I'm glad I was wrong. Your car is like if Jesus had a wet dream. 1 Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
:) Gauge cluster, ignition switch, turn signals and horn wired. Now I need to finish the head light switch and wipers. Wipers will use mostly factory wiring as it's a simple system. Just needs the new feed line. Headlights will be a hybrid. The 510 switches the ground to go between high and low beams. I'll use the stock headlight relay to accomplish this. Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
Dash is done besides wipers. I found one mistake so far. Got the charge indicator and high beam indicator swapped. No biggie. Besides that it looks like it should work. Much cleaner and simpler. I'll probably hook everything up in a loose state to test and then I'll put connectors under the dash. I need to be able to remove the dash with cutting the harness out... The only wire missing from this picture is the electric radiator fan power. Way cleaner.... Quote Link to comment
shacks510
Why not make a new headlight system like I did? Low/high circuits have their own relay and fuse. Stock wiring activates the relays and the highbeam switch on the column grounds the highbeam relay. Low beams do not dim with highbeams turned on. If you have the power to supply the lights, might as well use it, right? I'm still using sealed beams and they're WAY brighter than with the stock wiring. Best of all, no more flickering from the headlight switch being overloaded. Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
You're right. I have to setup a relay for the cooling fan anyways. This seems like the easiest way utilizing most of the stock wiring and switches. https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4110/5205121324_632f19ab4b_b.jpg Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
So I figured the easiest way to get three relays/fuses and a mount is to use another can-am box ;) it had 40amp relays and 20amp fuses already. I'm running out of room so I mounted it here. Lots to do.. 1 Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
I'm phasing out the stock relay all together. Jeff said they rarely work or will fail if they do. We came up with a simple solution using the stock switch, dimmer and dash light. Should be easy and reliable. Quote Link to comment

Josh K.
Thanks! Found some metal and a lonely cnc machine today..... Needed to make my shift boot flanges. Found some parts off an old machine that would work perfect!!!! Booyah!!! 3 Quote Link to comment
Icehouse
Thats an awesome shifter flange! Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
I still need one of these: Can someone measure these two dimensions? If anyone has a spare please lmk. Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
Forget that last post. I'm moving on now... Started fitting. Lots of hammering and cutting. It's gonna work out fine. I'm flaring out the side of the tunnel to be flush with the flange and a flat piece of sheet will.fill the hole in front. I'll make a vertical filler piece on the backside of the flange. 2 Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
Getting there. Now I need to pull the motor/tranny for the LAST time so I can work this sheet metal from underneath and finish weld out. Then it's on to wiring the engine bay for lights. After that the motor/tranny goes back in for good... 5 Quote Link to comment

q-tip
I like the route you went with the flange to pinch a boot in there to seal it. Looks good man and... TIS BUT A FLESH WOUND!!! 2 Quote Link to comment
