1964 Datsun truck. not much info but only $750 http://olympic.craig...2715042510.html

Was just gonna post up the info I have. So here we go:

http://olympic.craigslist.org/cto/2715042510.html

Found this truck on craigslist the other night, and went and checked it out last night. I would’ve snapped it up in a heartbeat if we had a place for it and the time to correct the rust.

Overall seems like an awesome deal, but it definitely needs some TLC to work it to completion. There is also an issue with an ownership in doubt registration. Here is a link to the code. http://apps.leg.wa.gov/wac/default.aspx?cite=308-56A-210

Brief background, the current seller discovered the truck ten years ago abandoned in a customer’s field. He is a mobile mechanic. Quite a character. Seems straight-up about everything. He eventually got the truck and attempted to contact the owners (which is part of the three-year registration process). No contact was received from owner. 4 months have elapsed since the registration was issued.

He cleaned up the truck quite a bit. Did a lot of electrical. Lights, horn, wipers, etc. all work. Says he tore the brake system apart and rebuilt. New MC I think. Brakes function well. He replaced the gas tank with a chevy LUV gas tank. Looks like a clean install. Has a column shifter, and all the gears function fine. The engine is an E12. He said the compression on the cylinders is good except #4: 30psi. It runs well, still peppy, but it will need a rebuild.

Body wise everything is really straight for how old it is. It seems like almost all the original parts are there. The pix don’t show the passenger side fender on, but the seller will put it all back together. He was trying to fix some rust. Both fenders, in the typical rust spots, are pretty bad. On the passenger side it ate into the body a bit. Inside on the driver’s side floorpan, there is rot. The body mount to chassis in that location is rotted out.

Here are pictures I took last night. If you go to the album there is much more to see:

Anyone got the skinny on what's up with the half done KA swapped 521? Anyone checked it out in person, what's wrong?

This one

I have seen that ad a few times. I really want it! I would try to talk him down a bit. If it is just wiring, I could probably get it running in a day.

says just the mounts are done.

in short, needs:

radiator fitted, plumbed and fans.

larger fuel lines ran

wired

exhaust.

he basicly did the easy stuff!!! :D

That guy has had that on CL for damn near a year by now (if my memory serves me correctly). We picked up our 521 last January, and have been taking note of 521's in the Seattle area that come up, and this one has been on there for a LONG time.

I'm sure that Brody and I could go take a look at it, and get more photos of it, if someone is really interested in it.

Here's his old thread if you're interested.

Not stock - I was driving downtown when he passed me,jumped on it,& got a little-

sideways with it.I was thinking "A stock Datsun pickup doesn't do that".

When I told a friend about it,he said that "It belongs to xxxx,& it has a V6 in it".

Reminds me of a time I was down in San Francisco for a computer sales/recruiting convention at the Moscone Center back in '97. Had to park a couple blocks away and walk back, and as I rounded the corner lo and behold parked there was a mid sixties Detroit sedan in fair to good shape~ sporting license plate frames from Opie's Fine Used Cars, McKinleyville, CA.~ population 42, closed on Sundays.

JK on the population BTW....
