Crashtd420
So my next idea was to slice and bend the cable bracket to place it at an angle that was better.... Getting closer to something.... Tomorrow I'm going to remove that metal piece on the cable and the small plastic tube above it.... there is a section of hard tubing after that that has a nice preformed bend so hopefully I can use that to my advantage.... I'm planning to make something to hold the cable into the bracket also..... So much for an easy off the shelf idea... 1 Quote Link to comment

The caliper mounting bracket would be in the way... Passenger side pic as reference, currently working on driverside.... Next I ground clearance in the bracket, that allowed me to seat the cable but I didn't like the way it positioned the cable... it was still angled towards the wheel... I believe its intended to be routed similar to the datsun cable down under the axle and gas tank.... There are some brackets that I do not see on your setup. No idea about the flange studs.... 1 Quote Link to comment
Charlie69
Is your caliper on top of the axle? It should be to the rear if it is. Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
Good point. Can you swap brackets and calipers side-to-side to give you more room? 1 Quote Link to comment

Crashtd420
I only got a little time so far today to work on it but I removed the metal piece from the cable and made something to keep the cable In the brackets..... I will take some pictures when I get back out there..... What I'm trying now should work out.... 2 Quote Link to comment
Charlie69
It has been many years since I worked with a set of Bebanni rear brackets and I dot remember if the design is for top mounted calipers or rear. I sure will be happy when Mike Klotz makes rear disc brake kits. We will not have to engineer e brake cables as it will be part of the kit. 1 Quote Link to comment
Charlie69
I am just trying to help you Crashed. I hope you can figure it out. 1 Quote Link to comment

I know what you mean... even the one from Silvermine requires you to figure out the ebrake..... There is the guy who just did the same disk brake conversion and used the stock cables.... I'm not sure how he extended or made the cables fit but I know he made a bracket with a bent pipe to route the cable..... If my gas tank wasn't going to be in the way I might have done something similar.... 2 Quote Link to comment
Crashtd420
Anyhow this new ideas seems to be working..... This is what I got done.... removed metal the pieces from the cable and made two of these.... 2 Quote Link to comment
Crashtd420
These will keep the cable secured to the caliper..... And allows a good transition along the axle towards the center.... You can see the 2 cables going over the axle.... they will be under that crossmember they are resting on.... 1 Quote Link to comment
Charlie69
I saw one not a Datsun but the guy used the littl U-bolts for steel wire to lengthen his cables claimed it worked fine but I do not think I would use his setup. 1 Quote Link to comment
Charlie69
If your rotate your caliper to the rear does it hit your shock? 1 Quote Link to comment

Crashtd420
It's in the rear most position..... The bolt hole spacing on the axle tube is not a square pattern, more rectangle... So I can only go in two spot towards the front at the bottom or towards the rear at the top..... I have it in the rear at the top with the bleeder on top so I'm pretty sure this is where the caliper will live.... 1 Quote Link to comment
Charlie69
OK does Beebani mark the brackets left or right? 1 Quote Link to comment
Crashtd420
Ok to clarify the way the bracket is drilled only allows for those 2 positions, I could drill 2 more hole and index it all 4 spots but I gain nothing.... For my application I thinking I'm going to fine continuing in this direction.... 1 Quote Link to comment

No but they can only go on one way because of the spacers that are welded to them.... I tried both on one side and one clearly wouldnt work.... I'm pretty sure I'm setup correctly.... 1 Quote Link to comment
Crashtd420
And I quickly threw the spring over the coilover... angle of that picture had me concerned about clearance.... All good.... yes it's not properly installed but I pushed it over as close as I could to the caliper... plenty of room.... 1 Quote Link to comment
Charlie69
That looks a lot better. Quote Link to comment
thisismatt
What about changing the calipers left to right so that the cable points up? 1 Quote Link to comment

I honestly tried every possible way.... Either the bleeder ended up in the wrong place or something else would be in the way.... 1 Quote Link to comment
