Draker
ironically because it's the furthest point south other than Florida. I'd call it south too. Quote Link to comment

arizonajones
You're going to COTA?! I'm green with envy! Austin is a fun town. Here are some ideas: Watch the bats fly out from under South Congress Bridge at sundown. Drink lots of Shiner Bock beer (take a brewery tour if you can - in Shiner 1hr south). See some live music (there's a ton of options). Take a picture with the Stevie Ray Vaughan statue. Eat BBQ (brisket & hot links). Oh, and Frito Pie... that's important too. 1 Quote Link to comment
bilzbobaggins
True true. Accents are dyeing off anyways. We don't learn speech through lots of dialogue but more from the teevee. I've lived in Georgia all my life and get asked where I'm from a lot. Martinez, GA is down the street. The locals pronounce it Martin-ez. Quote Link to comment

RATX5
P Terry's is a great burger joint there. Their fries, milkshakes, and burgers are to die for. 1 Quote Link to comment
mrbigtanker
Austin is a new California believe or not, food trucks and Californian's. Jesse James Shop is right down the road from Austin airport if you want to go. 3 Quote Link to comment
paradime
If you're into pinball, even a little go to Pinballz Arcade. Mind bowing. Spiderhouse has some seriously bad ass coffee and breakfast grub. Nubian Queen Lola’s Cajun Soul Food. As for BBQ, I've never been to Salt like, but don't let anyone talk you into going to Franklin. It's a joke IMO. Sick Mexican food everywhere, but breakfast is the best meal for TexMex. try Chilaquiles, it Mexican Freto pie, but WAY better. See a movie at Alamo Drafthouse, you won't regret it, even if it's a shitty movie. They serve BEER and food you can take to your seat. Also see who's playing at the Paramount theater. The best music venue in Tx. Please give us a report on the race track. I've heard good things. 1 Quote Link to comment
