banzai510(hainz)
you must have 280zx struts up front who makes the wheels and they got other offsets. I want that CCW clone look but cant find the offset I need. I got stock front struts(4dr) The REAR its hard to believe 9in and zero offset!!!!!!! I see it but still hard to believe. look like it will still hit the tire under HARD accell. PS Car is badass!!!!!! Quote Link to comment
Burabuda
but how much more badass it would be with 13x8 & 13x9  4 Quote Link to comment

I see it but still hard to believe. look like it will still hit the tire under HARD accell. PS Car is badass!!!!!! Well there is some camber to tilt the tire and rim in at the top at the back and yes the body IS going to hit the tire first. That rim is definitely outside the fender. Unless 400 pound springs on front and 1300 on back it will chew the rubber on turns and bumps. Looks good sitting still. 1 Quote Link to comment
arabian_ryda
the front has negative camber. but still a solid inch between the fender and tire. my front fenders are not rolled but will be trimmed so my tires dont catch the lip on steep inclines. as for going lower, i doubt it. not because of fitment issues but my downpipe is 2.5 inches off the ground and in the rear i need as much grip on the rear tires as possible. so cant go much lower (negative camber) tire and rim clear the body fine in the rear. custom bump stops to help so it does not bottom out. springs are stiff but nothing crazy. i had 3 buddys sitting in the trunk and the tires didnt rub so fingers crossed. 2 Quote Link to comment

Dolomite
I just don't get the logic of this setup. You're obviously running 9in rims just to say you're running 9in rims. 225s, while barely in the approved size range, really belong on 8in rims. You get literally no advantage by running wide rims with narrow tires. Maybe this a sign of me getting old. The car looks great if I make myself ignore the ricockulous stretchy herra frush vibe. 1 Quote Link to comment
arabian_ryda
i did it because it looks aggressive from the side and rear. and i love deep dish wheels. 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Again narrower fronts would make the rears 'look' wide and deeper too. 1 Quote Link to comment
maltese
Looks good. I haven't been able to bring myself to stretch a tire, on any of my vehicles. I usually run on the wide end, in terms of tire, on my peticular wheel. I had 225's on 7" wheels, on my 240Z, and I have 195's on 6.5" wheels on my MINI. I do appreciate the look, though. I just can't wrap my head around tire wear issues, in hard cornering, when the shoulder of the tire is being stretched. I daily drive windy mountain roads, and have so for the last 20 years. I guess if I drove on straight flat roads, I would try it out. Keep up the good work. Your car looks fantastic. Quote Link to comment
r0p0doe
Should of went zx, like mike said it would make the rear look better Quote Link to comment

john510
Nice car, looks great. The fronts wheels look awesome, the tire seems to be a good fit on the rim,the rears seem too stretched and dont look like the fronts. 2 Quote Link to comment

Just my .02c but I think it would look even better about 1" lower in the back. Should be tucking 16's... but how much more badass it would be with 13x8 & 13x9  http://community.ratsun.net/topic/64737-9-wide-wheels-without-flares-stanced-510s/page-4  Quote Link to comment
Green Bastard
That will only work if the suspension is limited to an inch or so of travel. Not exactly optimal for real life handling. Even if those rears clear the fender lip (rolled?), there is another bulge further up inside the fender that will foul the tire. I agree, it looks agressive, and I like your taste in wheel style. Dime Dave
Years ago I attended an autocross seminar put on by Dick Turner aand sponsored by BF Goodrich. The maximum rim width for best grip was 90% of the tire section width. So if this holds true, a 225 section width maxes out at 8.0" Just saying. 3 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Form should always follow function. When trying for a certain 'form', function always rides in the back seat. Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
What if your primary function is form? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Then you are concerned mainly with looks and are simply....... shallow. Or a herra frush, hood scoop, rear spoiler, stretch tire, mad camber, poke, stance slave to fashion, tool. 1 Quote Link to comment

datsunfreak
Or for that matter... Personally, I like a mild stretch (not quite as much as the OP, more like that F1 car) for what it does from a performance standpoint. But that's me... Quote Link to comment
