ArchetypeDatsun
This is pretty fricken awesome! http://nissannews.com/en-US/nissan/usa/releases/nissan-unveils-revolutionary-engine-to-complement-electric-zeod-rc-powerplant 1 Quote Link to comment
72240z
I have been betting on how quickly certain things will go from facebook to ratsun lol, I got the under on this one. Pretty awesome engine, lets see how it performs though. The biggest part of Le Mans is endurance. Quote Link to comment
Watson
Very cool feat of engineering! I wonder though... With three cylinders, will it sound like a Geo Metro with a turbo? I've never heard a thee cylinder engine with that high of an output. Should be interesting! Quote Link to comment
housew
i want to know WAY more than they gave me in that article haha. Super awesome though what fuel does it burn? is it dry sump? hows the turbo lag?...... Quote Link to comment
Kirden
Maybe that'll power the new "510"... Quote Link to comment
RTB
Well if there was ever an engine that would be awesome in a 510 or even a 1200... Quote Link to comment
HRH
That would so awesome to have that motor in a lightweight car. Probably makes next to nothing for torque though, more than likely some insanely high rpm. But yeah, not enough information in the news blurb and the pics on Nissan's site don't work. Booo!! Kirden
it says in the article I think, something like 380nm (280ish ft) Quote Link to comment
Jayden71
Cool Bring back the L!!! Quote Link to comment
Morrisun
The Nissan DIG-T R produces 380 Nm of torque= 280.24 ft/lbs, that's about 4X's what my 1200 engine puts out, and it weights in at 192lbs vs 88lbs. Yes I want! Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Just say No! to three-cylinder engines. Quote Link to comment
uberkevin
For sure need more info. Quote Link to comment
Fat510
This is awesome Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Very possible. Say you have a 1.6 making 100 hp with today's tech.... EFI, direct injection, blah blah blah. At 14 pounds boost you're making 200 hp (assuming a few things) at 28 pounds 400hp Quote Link to comment
bananahamuck
And in 40,000 miles you have a block of alumium with a twirling thing on top. 7 Quote Link to comment
Datsfrodo
Light enough to make a twin motor datsun. One under the hood and a second in the trunk. Quote Link to comment

Skib
DEATHKART!!!! the Nissan Le Mans powered go kart  1 Quote Link to comment
RTB
Is this going into the delta wing? Quote Link to comment
tr8er
I actually wonder if they could do a side by side sort of like the w16 in the veyron. Or they could just do a straight 6. I was about to dismiss this as defeating the purpose, but there are some neat things that can be done with side by sides, such as shutting one down in econo mode etc. I'd watch that thread. But not a garage project to say the least. That's some management work. Quote Link to comment
elmerfudpucker
But if the tech makes a smaller v6 twin turbo? Maybe the GTR will have a little mean ass brother? or a 2 wheeled monster? Quote Link to comment

I think this is going into the delta wing. Probably really far from hitting any real production. Quote Link to comment
