Travis is almost done bodyworking the firewall so we can get it painted: While he's been working on that, I got the rear suspension reassembled and installed in the car: I put the diff back together this morning, so it's ready to install as well: I've got the front suspension ready to go back in as well- as soon as the paint is dry I'll get on it! 7 Quote Link to comment

I did it with tubing on my last Toyota pickup, but for this frame the flat plate made more sense. It also gave me a great spot for the lower shock mount. 1 Quote Link to comment

The front clip is from a Toyota pickup, and you'd have to cut the whole front end of your car apart to do what I did... twistedimages Posted March 27, 2016 Author Report Share Posted March 27, 2016 Alright- picture time! Yesterday after work, Travis and I went to his shop and painted the firewall. Well, HE painted, I watched and breathed paint fumes. It laid down beautifully! One sag that we'll buff out later, but overall it's excellent. So, this morning I hitched the dolly up to the old Buick and dragged the car home. My oldest son is in town for spring break, so he and I got the engine back in: The exhaust is back on, driveshaft is in, and the suspension is all bolted down. I need to clean and paint the steering parts, finish my firewall flange for the steering column, and about a hundred other things, but it's starting to look like a car again! We were tired at this point, so the car is back in the garage for the night... I went back out a bit later and started putting the trunk parts back together, too: More fun coming soon! 10 Quote Link to comment

Most of the rotary ones I see are a full C and hold a set of side drafts over the engine. From everything I've read, the sidedraft setup is more driveable. I would if you keep and want to throw a little more money at it is go with a down draft ITB. Check out foxinjection.com. That guy is a sweet heart to deal with and is such a big help. Eventually it might find its way in to my 510 wagon, though for now just to get the beastie driveable I'm wrapping up a z22 install.
