the510keeper
Had me worried, Vic stripped a dr door for mellow yellow and a pass door for the silver bullet, wow. Quote Link to comment
the510keeper
More fun times Lesson for the day RUST Here is the hood but it's been sitting and people love touching shinny metal. Check out this pics, finger prints No need to resand, but metal prep works great. Metal prep leaves a coating on the metal to protect it from rust. If I do not use metal prep the metal would rust under the clear Now how pretty Rust is gone. Vic stripped the apron and it looks great, We hammered it straight, and also metal prepped it Decided to rust a pattern in this hood I sanded the metal prep off the areas I want to rust. Then clear I'm still unsure how fast it will rust under the clear, but we will see 5 Quote Link to comment

izzo
Night time When it rusts its pretty cool looking. If it doesn't rust fast enough just leave it at my house for a week. Salt water air will take care of it right quick. Taken this morning on the way to work. Quote Link to comment

the510keeper
Hood shocks Hooking up steering parts, The boots were jacked, but the tie rods were tight so we found 3 oem boots and 1 urethane boot. Cleaned it all up ran a tube of grease through the tie rods before installing new booties, and bango :) And the reversed center link Quote Link to comment
the510keeper
Opinions please Mirrors what do you all think. These will go in the corner of the window area, not drilled into the door Might have to weld in a small plate of metal to hold them Quote Link to comment
SlottedMagz
MEH in my opinion s30 fender mirrors would look the best, the black contrasting the bare metal Quote Link to comment

Camtron
Hood shocks[img=http://i799.photobucket.com/albums/yy276/the510keeper/The510keeper%202/20130221_142720_zps55d4d9fd.jpg] I am totally digging this build/concept. Although after all the "aftermarket additions" you found in the 59' you're probably a little let down when you open a hood/trunk/glove box and find some of the marijawhatsits! Lol Can I asked where you sourced the hood struts and how easy they are to install? Quote Link to comment

Though mount in same place as James else you will have clearance issues. Quote Link to comment

Unfortunately I did not have ball studs like I put on Rusty Bird but a drill and some bolt work just find. The shocks from a BMW trunk work great too. Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
You can also get them from McMaster-Carr new for relatively cheap. I think I got everything I needed for less than $40. Quote Link to comment
