Been getting ready to not only move my home, but my entire shop. Working on the car hasn't been happening as much as I'd like, but it's always there waiting for me.

Finished "making room"

She's not going much lower than this.

I love the way you did this^

This is exactly what I want to do with my four door... So I can slam it low without the wheel camber. Nice job. :)

Front end is all trimmed up and bent into shape, or pretty close.

Neat little bumper mount, makes it super easy to remove, Also got my hands on a nice fresh bumper too.

The fuel cell is going to work out perfectly, I was afraid it was a bit large, but it's working.

A couple of frame rails, and some links and this bitch might be rolling here shortly. I reckon this setup should be able to handle some power...;)

Can still notch an inch out of this.

I didn't lay these tig beads, I wanted to trust a pro with the structure welds, and some of these are kind of important.

Going to add some gussets on the outside of the frame rails to the crossmember.

maybe a bit lower than ride height.

few extra degrees of camber, and about an inch down in the front. Pretty happy with how it's looking.

What happened to the 4dr id love to buy some body panels off it. Id even be interested in the bare shell (even without a title)

I have it still. The entire front clip is gone including the valence, but other than that it's pretty much there. The majority of the interior has been removed. The engine is still there, and with a battery and some hot-wiring, I know it would start. Even has the centerlines on it still. Are you located in Colorado? I can sell you whatever you want off of it, or you can come pick it up for a fair price. My landlord is already bitching at me about it. PM me.

Thanks everyone else for the positive remarks. I'm doing a lot of sitting and staring (marijuana), but taking the time to envision exactly what I want is definitely paying off. Can't wait to plumb up the brakes and fuel and get this thing started. Hopefully in the next 2 months I can get the rear end finished up, get the FMIC piping in, and ship her off for a proper rollcage.

Stay tuned, cheers.

Yes, this car still exists. It's been a weird 6 months and unfortunately there has been no work done on her. However, I recently have returned home from a month in Nepal, and now have a new shed to play in.

The poor thing almost fell off of the trailer on the 7 hour haul home, worst trip of my life, bent a frame rail and everything falling off of the jack stands… fucking sucked.

Future shop space, the cherokee in the background has since left, and I have almost the entire thing to myself. I can't work there at night, but it's free, and the car is no longer in "storage"

My other side project that i'm nowhere near finishing. I think I have enough projects to last me into my 40's at this rate.

New van!! new tow vehicle! 302 v-8, runs like a top. All it needed was a new brake master and some mild rewiring on the headlights. Allegedly hauled Waylon Jennings sound equipment in the 70's. $500.00… no brainer.

parting shot, drinking single malt in the Himalayas after hiking for 5 days. Super glad to get back to work on this car. The shed I'm commandeering is nestled up next to the mech shop I've been working at lately. One of the owners is an old hot rodder, very knowledgable on suspension setups and fabrication. If all goes to plan, I'll be dumping my pockets and chipping away at this thing again.

cheers.

Hey there Ratsun, It's been awhile.

Been kind of neglecting my build thread. I haven't made the most progress, but I'm back in a solid workspace and frame of thought. I figured I'd dump a few photos and say hello, Hope to frequent the boards more frequently again.

Jigging up the steering for the ol' cut and flip. I thought i'd have the clearence with the rods that i purchased, but between the sway bar and the track rod (?) clearence was basically not there. Rack to rack with no issues now.

First peek into the diff. Was told from the seller (like 3 years ago  ) that it had one of those factory ford limited slip chongers in there, which it appears to have.

My buddy Justin's Volvo he's been tossing together over the past year. Dude is a machine, If you're in the Denver area and need a good garage, go see him at Baker Garage. Guy is a genius with modified alignments, airbags, wheel fitment, etc... 10/10, also sells tires.

Pic of the van, I don't think i've posted a pic of it since I pulled it out of a field on a trailer. Has a 5.0 crate and everything rebuilt sans the steering (really struggling to find components, and it's not that bad). I cut 3 coils out of the front and put some 295's out back. This picture was after getting stuck trying to get out of camp after camping for a week this July.

Getting back to work on the 4 link. I purchased a general kit off of Speedway. I ended up only using the plates (which needed modification) and the rod ends.

B4B2850D-FDB9-4D5C-867C-0BC25A66E221_zps

Notching out said plates to fit over my crossmember. I ended up buying a spindle sander to widen the notches for the rear brackets. The kit was made for a ford 9" rearend, which has a 3" housing. The ford 8.8 has a 3.25" housing, so I had to make due. I cut these with a jigsaw to fit over the crossmember.

Pretty awesome unit I picked up from Griggs Racing. The piece is pretty on point. It was hard to get my hands on. I ended up calling them probably 6 times, then when they finally processed my order I was broke ass, and had to wait to pay for it. I think out the door with a second set of himes (sp?) for the frame was around 500.00 shipped, Fully adjustable. This is my next step, to build the links for the Watts link, and figure out how to fit an airbag under the frame behind the axle, and infront of the watts... fuck.

Got ahold of some weld on rod ends from my local 4x4 shop. At least I know if I ever want to put a blown 383 stroker in the thing, the rear end will be up to the task...  :geek:

Banged them out with some stainless fill rod, Not perfect by any means, but I think I could probably crawl over rocks with these things...

Another shot of mocking up the plates, I have more photos of the rear, but my shitty photo upload is corrupting the files for some reason, I'll try to figure it out.

70's Triumph Chopper I'm trying to sell. (buy it, I give you good price) Has a built motor, loves race gas, eats 1200 Harleys.

Another shot of the Grigg's watts link before mock up.

I put all the links together as of today. Going to try and tig up the front plates tonight and get the links in. Dial in the Pinion angle and re-center the housing. Then move on to the watts link. Gotta find some rod ends for the smaller himes. Borrowing a bender from my friend to get a cage started in this beast as well. Expect updates.

Good to be back, thanks for looking!

Here's some pics of the spindle sander I was talking about. I dont know how I didn't have one of these already. I think it was about $200.00 at home depot. You can use it for anything and has a belt sander attachment.

Another funny shot of the vanimal.

Welding on the rear brackets. Kind of scared about warping the housing, but I'll worry about that when this thing can even roll again. I was pretty diligent about not over doing it on the heat. I have some friends who say they can straighten it out for me worst case scenario.

made some scrap jack stands at the exact height of the wheels, if you're thinking about building a 4 link... all I can say is do this first. I don't know wtf I was thinking.
