These are old pics.

I am further along in progress than these pictures.

I was intentionally waiting to post oics of everything hooked up once completely done with the conversion

I am not satisfied with other aspects of the uni-body not directly relating to the 4-link ... more on that later ... :sneaky:

nabbed myself a 280zx Fuel tank with the filler-neck assembly.

The orignal 240z tank is probably shit inside .. like many ... but I will have to take a look to confirm.

It's a tight fit with the watt's link system.

Excuse the mess ... and some crappy pics ... .

I didn't want to , but had to cut out the spare tire wheel well to make room for different fuel tank and watt's link system.

It had to go regardless because of the frame system to be in-corporated.

Also semi-trimmed the sheet-metal to the curved boxed frame rails.

It's obviously clear at this point that the pumpkin needs more clearance

Clearancing also required for the 4-link brackets and the upper coil spring mounts.

oics relation to the strut towers location. ( if you are not famaliar with s30 strut tower location's mostly )

Keep in mind this is the mock-up phase portion.

Some more sheet-metal will be cut out and some more added along with tubing :)

In this pic .. the center frame support bar cut out for the pumpkin/4-link brackets.

a 2x3" piece of square tubing and angle iron are welded supporting body during process

(it's what I had laying there at the time lol)

Jacked the axle up to see a quick placement of what will go where and how.

competition engineering 4-link brackets ( just the tops ... I built a JIG for re-assembly hehe )

They will be set-up fairly narrow on the rear-axle and special spacers to allow more articulation added.

The orginal Ford 4-link mounts on the 2 pics below are really annoying and ugly ... I have yet to cut them off.

I have a jig built for the 4-link brackets.

The brackets are just the tops. Yes I cheated.

The original Ford differential housing 4-link mounts are kind of annoying and ugly ...

I still really need to grind the bastards off

Axle track width will sit as close to stock as possible.

Just ahead of the original R180 mustache bar mounting bolts/center frame support.

These area's will be cut out and re-enforced with tubing in the end.

Spring perches from speedway motors work well.

They are not over-built at all though.

Original mustang shock and 4-link stabilizer brackets can be modified quickly to fit shocks or coilovers.

holding back .. hehe :D I don't put out on first reply ..

Thanks Jennifer. It's hard to have a "clean" garage lol.

Cutting stuff is always a touch dirty to haha.

Yeah things are figured out.

I use to be a 4-linking virgin .. not so much anymore

It's pretty straight forward.

For all you owners wanting to "slam" your rides ...

The straight axle swap goes as far up into the body as I want ... without any camber issues... but you do lose "some" cargo space  .

It also rides smoother...

"Blue Balls" ride height will not be slammed ... lowered to what I think's good for me :)

thats good!! glad you're more experienced meow haha "lowered to what I think's good for me" = really high  maybe way better ride :D

 ... I actually like that look !

It's called a "rake" when the rear-end is jacked up :)

The shocks and springs in this project should rattle the teeth out of your head ..

It's called a "rake". That's what I need to clean my garage floor. Then a broom. I'm a filthy pig

^^fixed^^

Seriously, you're making pretty good progress (considering the friggin mess). I wish there was enough room to back up and get a pic of the whole car setting on the ground. Can't wait to see this one on the road.
