ok , now i know who to kidnap when i get to the frame portion of my build !

i love it !

great pictures man , i need to find a way to slow down and take more pictures ,

Thanks, I try to take pictures of each step but it's difficult, hacking on stuff is too much fun to stop halfway through sometimes.

Those look nothing like my lines, I am running a Toyota box though. Those lines look good, I like that braided stuff but it would probably get dirty fast in my rig.

Stripped the paint and grease off the rear axle and then drilled a hole.

Didn't get a before pic of the drain plug, but it hangs down about 1/2" on the Yota axles. Because of that they have a tendency to get ground up and will loosen and fall out. I am frenching it into the housing so that won't happen. The diff armor I got also came with socket head style drain plugs, so there won't be any corners to get purchase if I do end up grinding something up in there.

Here's an internet shot that shows the stock plug hanging off there.

Got a little bit done yesterday after work. Today I'll get started on cutting out the stock rear suspension. Should get a couple hours to work on it today before heading out to a zombie party.

Welded the armor on and started the truss that will tie into the diff armor.

Still need to trim them up, add clearance for the u-bolts and some draining features. It will go something like this.

Bullshit, the day is too young to be done. Get your ass back out there.

Sorry, keeping the girl happy is as important as finishing the truck.   :)

welp, shit just got real...

Yep, not done cutting stuff off either.

Mocked up the springs today to get an idea of where everything will end up. The front spring pads end up making a great index for the new mounts. With the axle at the correct height and the springs compressed the rear of the frame is 1" higher than the front. Everything I have read tells me that will go away once they break in.

The rear crossmember lines up perfectly to locate the shackle. Going to cut it off and mount the spherical shackle mount (sitting on top of the frame in the pics) so it is centered where the cross member tube is now.

Cutting and grinding to commence in the am. I've got 2 days off from work so hopefully I can get everything located, then it will be welding time.

Jeff, I got some souvenirs for you as they will no longer be required. :D

Looks to me like your about to change the name of your truck to BOB.

I can take 11" out to remove the overhang of the no longer used back body mount. I am digging the canopy on it though so we will see.

The Disneyland zip up really brings the look together Steve

It is the happiest place on earth :D

Thanks, i haven;t been in the woods since memorial weekend and am starting to go thru withdrawals

Thanks, should get the leaves hung today and maybe the axle setup. Then it's a bunch of weld time.
