...or we could all stop being cheap and take out a loan for a plasma cutter...

...nvm thats not ratsun enough...

edit: so its better and its more ratsun, carry on.

Sure is, it's way less mess than the plasma for small stuff. I love it.

Totally worth the $, I had mine powder coated and it was worth that added $ as well.

The plasma still has it place, like when a lot of stuff needs cut or large stuff. More tools is always better than less tools

I have bin trying to get my wife on board with that idea for ages....

Bout time you hung some armor on that rig.

Looks good.

Thanks man.

Well it's not super clean or finished or anything due to the time constraints, but I got it ground down and painted it yesterday. I'll have one more post after it's bolted up and then I'm outta here for camping. :D

Ya, I think it turned out not too bad, so far. Still need to add the lights and cap the backside of the ends. Need to rework a set of fenders with wider openings now.

Kinda captured the stock feel in a burly sorta way. :)

Photo dump. These are mostly the truck, I threw a few others in from the trip in general to get a feel for the area. Driving past the slide was...well it's hard to put into words and the pictures don't really do justice. We only had one full day of sun and 65 degrees, but everyone had a great time despite the off and on rain. On to the pics.

In line for the detour around the slide area.

You can see a small section of the highway has been cleared here. They are still looking for the last 2 missing so it will be slow going.

I have a few more pics of the slide area and Angie got some as well. if you guys are interested I will post them up later, maybe in a different thread.

First night at camp.

Turns out they are decommissioning the road we came to explore. Ripping out the culverts and letting the creeks have the area back. Seems like a waste of money to me as they will eat the road anyways if left alone, but what do I know. :(

This is a road that was decommissioned a while ago, doing the same thing to the road up the hill. Except they seem to be pulling the culverts out.

The last nights fire in camp (there was a pretty decent bonfire as well I got no pics, maybe Nuff has some?)

Got to load test the bumper with a light pull. Nuff got high centered on his crossmember.

Hope everyone had as good a Memorial as we did and took some time to remember what the holiday was really about.
Thanks Grandpa Maguire and Uncle Bobby, you are still missed even though we never met.   flag_usa.gif

It is :)

So apparently my rear trans seal went during the trip, I didn't realize it til we got back into town and shifted into the lower gears. So I am on the hunt for a lower geared transmission or just whatever 5-speed I can find.
