ggzilla
Datsun actually moved the bracket over in the 1978 B210. For earlier ones the bracket can be notched a la the Pitroad instructions. Datsun 1200 has the brackets 1.5" forward so maybe it just fits??? Link to comment

datsunfreak
NUTS! Found these cool chromoly nuts that fit the exhaust/intake studs but use a 12-point 10mm socket so you can install them in tight spaces easier. Very good thing with a header and dual sidedrafts. This engine build is quickly becoming "hey, how much cool hardware can we use on one engine?" 2 Link to comment

Cpl620
^^ those look like the nuts i used on jet engines, other than not being self locking. I have a few purple titanium bolts i saved for a special spot in my build. Link to comment
Kirden
Why are your builds so cool? I want to steal your button heads... Also, what would you charge to make me a copy of your headers? Link to comment

I came very close to ordering the self-locking nuts from McMaster-Carr that have the 6-point 10mm heads. But in the end, chromoly was cooler. Would love to see the nuts you're talking about. Are they stainless? Link to comment
datsunfreak
Also, what would you charge to make me a copy of your headers? If you mean for an A-series, it's just the big tube Nismo race header (originally made by Kirk). They are out there if you shop diligently. Link to comment
datsunfreak
Catalog is gone off their site, but send them an email. You might get lucky. http://www.kirkracing.com/contacts.htm 1 Link to comment

Kirden
Meant to tell you thanks for the Kirk link. They told me they would have to check and get back with my because they weren't sure if an A12 header would fit a B210 with A15. If not I may be able to get one imported through them for my setup but the price tag is more than I paid for the car :P Link to comment

Worst that could happen is the collector hitting the floor (taller engine), which is fixable, so... Link to comment
Kirden
Hrm, that's not so bad them. If they have one for the B210 when I call back tomorrow I'll get it, if not I'll buy the 1200 one. I was worried it might hit something underneath like the steering or any mounts due to being a different chassis. Actually, if the collector hits/is close to the floor that will make it easier to tuck the exhaust for the lows. win win! Link to comment

I just cut the stock 3-bolt flange off and welded on a V-band. This: Usually beats this: Link to comment
datsunfreak
In fact, to drag this back on topic, I will be cutting off the header flange and welding on a V-band connector on my header also. 2 Link to comment

datsunfreak
Didn't like the factory coil bracket screws so I drilled out the holes and installed 1/4-20 nutserts... Coil installed. Just noticed I accidentally got some paint on the coil, need to clean that off... 1 Link to comment
datsunfreak
Removed the flywheel and clutch because I forgot to change the rear main seal... Got them bolted back on and installed the 5spd... And easy peasy, it's in there... 1 Link to comment
datsunfreak
Header test fit... Had to make a few small dents in the header tubes to get the steering linkage to clear at full lock. Should be good now. Carb test fit... Looks like I have room for some looong velocity stacks... B) 2 Link to comment
