I'm guessing you are having problems with fuel boinling in the float bowls while sitting at idle? I'm not sure if adding the return line will help aleviate this problem. Once the fuel is in the bowl, the only way out is for it to go though the carburator. Adding a return line will not recirculate fuel from the float bowls. I would reccomend a good heat sheild between the carbs and the exhaust manifold. That is what I ended up having to do on my SU's to aleviate the boiling problem.

See, I never had any issues with fuel boiling on my 38mm's.

But I did have a stock heat shield... anything to block the radiant heat off the manifold. Cody's manifold is header-wrapped... I can't imagine that thing *ever* getting hot enough to boil the fuel.

Now boiling from that metal tube bolted directly to that metal head stud, I can see that heat-soaking enough to cause fuel to boil out of the metal fuel line, however.

I often considered getting some phenolic washers made up just to isolate the fuel rail from the head.

Long time no update!

Went to Oregon to visit some datto peepd, Boaty and Siqx20, while i was there i did some parts trading, those 14x6 wheels I had for sale went to Siqx20 for his 710 goon build, and my Yakima rack went to boaty for some prefessional wheel service! These are my knockoff appliance mesh wheels I got from VintageRice at Canby.

Random photo assortment!

THe second part of the update is swappin struts! My cut down struts were just too short for the height i desired so i swapped em with a guy for a pair of UNcut ZX struts, he wanted moar low, i did not, perfect trade.

Also swapped down to 175# springs from 250, should be noticeable!
