Figbuck
Thanx for the pics. Those things are badd. That is exactly what I have been wanting. I think what Mike said about a little backing plate would be the hot setup. I'm going to try and get a set ordered this week. I pulled my doors off to paint the jambs. They are the last little side job before I can spray my color coat. I want to weld up the holes from the existing mirror and do what every I need to install the new mirrors. There are a lot of things I want to clean up like the locks, window regulators and make new interior door panels. I got new OEM exterior window squeegees and the mitered wheatherstripping. pl521sss
Finally got something done!! Installed Addco front sway bars. It's nice, unfortunately it's not powdered coated. Painted high gloss black, easily scratched while installing. Front Disc conversion and 620 spindle assembly. Almost there. Installed Billstein rear shocks. Their are one stiff shocks. It's a pain to compress them while installing it.:mad::mad: And I have the matching front Billstein as well. Got lucky to even find them. Quote Link to comment

paradoxx
Im so in love with your mirrors....................I wonder if the strut bar is for a 521 or it will be adapted? Quote Link to comment
pl521sss
Im so in love with your mirrors....................I wonder if the strut bar is for a 521 or it will be adapted? It got mixed in. Bar is for the 510 Suspension on trucks are different, strut bar won't apply. Not sure what they use to strengthen the chassis if it's even needed. Quote Link to comment
paradoxx
im trying to find one here on the local market but no one has it. So I will measure the holes and length and maybe a toyota will fit. where did you got that one? Quote Link to comment
RatsunRailer67
what did you do to lower it? 2inch blocks and left 2 leaves or what? Quote Link to comment
sdterrible1
Nice truck. great color! Where did you say you picked the mirrors up at? I need a set!! Quote Link to comment
pl521sss
what did you do to lower it? 2inch blocks and left 2 leaves or what? I took the overload leaf (bottom) and took 3rd leaf place it on top. Placing the 3rd leaf upside down and compress it with a clamp. I won't recommend this if you use it for hauling heavy items or if you have high powered engine. If you like the look of 5'' plus drop then...... Or leave the springs alone and just add the blocks. I compensated the rears with a nice Bilstein shocks. I used Allen bolts ( 38 16 x 1 12) in place of the center bolt from the springs. Very likely it will break when you remove it. So get these before hand. And longer bolt if your keeping all the springs. It fits right in for the BellTech lowering blocks part number # 6202. It's tapered by 2 degree. Another plus when lowering this much. Helps correct the pinion angle. I learned this the hard way. First time was just a regular 3'' block and my rig vibrated. Springs compressed by a clamp for assembly. Installed Quote Link to comment

pl521sss
what rims are those they look similar to mazda b2000s No way Nissan wheels Twice already from Mazda truck folks get's intimidated with my truck. Sittin at the light and they pull those rediculus hydrulics. I just laugh and out run them off the line and have them eat my unburned fuel. :fu: It's all good. Quote Link to comment
pl521sss
Here's my attempt to cut transmission. Mikes idea so thought I try it. First off, make sure you have protective gears Long sleeve, long pants (shorts bad idea), protective glass and ear plugs. Very loud and you'll get a ringing sound after you don't use one. And it's really messy. Aluminum shavings in your shirt (not good). Quote Link to comment
pl521sss
Trans adapter cleaned up Not perfect but it will work This will do the trick $12 carbide blade, cuts very well Precision cutting and skill saw is very difficult to do. I think know the reason why they call it skill saw. You need skillz to use one of these while cutting transmission. Quote Link to comment
mklotz70
ya...but it cuts that alum like butter!! :) Quote Link to comment

mklotz70
use it to hold the starter so compression tests and such can be done on the stand :) Quote Link to comment

pl521sss
ya...but it cuts that alum like butter!! :) Yeah it does and scarry I have to hold the bottom saw cover open while cutting. Like it wasn't hard enough to keep it lined up. Came out decent Quote Link to comment
mklotz70
I milled it off flat at the same height as the bosses by the starter. I got lucky that it was deep enough to cover the thickness of the flywheel :) Quote Link to comment
