What are the gas prices over there? It's 3/gallon for regular 87 in Spokane, and I drove over to Idaho for dinner with the parents and I fill up for $2.61!! WTF!!?? Washington taxes are a mfer.

i'm thinking about moving out west. So my 72 would be fine, but how about 83 maxima with RB20det? Here if it's 25 years or older it's all good in every category, but what would an 83 have to go through? (not cali, but oregon)?

I'm planning on it myself, just saving my pennies and rust proofing my datto first.

Though my hillbilly accent might make me sound goofy.

Naw You'd fit right in!!! my Dad moved to Oregon in '72 from Inglewood, his first comment 'bout Oregon was "I didn't know Oregon was so close to Arkansas!!!!"

Skunktruckin is right about the DEQ is only for the Portland metro area. They're pretty lax now, they used to drive your car an dynos (that we bought from Texas) and tested them under load. Those only lasted a couple years.

Now we only check hydrocarbons and COx, no more NOx or noise level. The only visual inspection is for the catalytic converter, and the exhaust doesn't dump beneath the car. Side dump is okay. It just gets the sniffer since 83's didn't have OBD.

You can get Special Purpose (SP) plates too, but you can only use your car for racing, events, shows, etc. Those never expire too and are smog exempt.

Gas is ~$2.75-2.85 for Chevron regular.
