This is a little late, but want to clear some things up. Chris was my bestest buddy and brother. It's a month later, and I'm crying at work typing this. All of us are pretty lost. He, pops and I were best friends. Now we're one short. Not much has meaning any more.

For those that didn't know him, he was one of the ones who was too kind. He had the biggest heart and loved life. He wasn't speeding or showing off. Newspapers sensationalize everything for a story and rumors get spread.

He was riding with his dad in Santa Cruz hills up hwy 9. Coming back, Chris wanted to go a little further and they went down 35 toward the fire station. On a straight section he glanced back a little over his shoulder. He didn't do that all day. His dad said he looked like a passenger. They weren't speeding, and he wasn't showing off. His dad was riding a sportser and they werent even above the speed limit. From the evidence we think he had a major medical condition that made him pass out.

He had been having bad heart palpitations for the last two months. His dad said it looked like he was a passenger. He must have collapsed off the bike forward because the top of his head hit first. You can drive the bend in a lifted truck going 55mph easily. He went straight, never turned, never touched the brakes.

Chris had raced on two wheels for pretty much his whole life. He never messed around on the street. We had the whole weekend planned. After they rode we were going to bleed the 510's brakes and finish prepping it for a track day at Sonoma the next weekend before watching the 24hr of Le Mans and movies.

We talked from 6am to bedtime and hung out every day. He wasn't just a great person. He was the best. Everything is just empty now.

Busta Nut - if you don't mind could you email me those pics? Or, could I swoop them for his FB page?

Also, could someone give me 71Dimer's contact info? I tried 0m'ing him but I guess his message box is full. We want to get a carpet kit for Chris' 510 so we can finish it. Adds weight =), but pops is going to dd it.

Thanks,

Bill

Thank you for sharing, Bill, condolences to you and all who are suffering, just remember that your brother will ALWAYS be within you and I'm sure he would want you to continue the journey of life happy, I know it's tough, I've lost loved ones as well, but you must push forward in his memory and honor, spend lots of time with your dad, he needs you more than ever now.

Carry on brother!!!!!

Thanks for the thoughts. Can't read any of these replies without crying. Always sitting over his shoulder while we scanned ratsun.

I think when the time is right we'll update the build thread. Next is to find carpet kit, take the solid mounts out for dd, paint, maybe another track day or autox.

I'm so sorry for your loss Bill. Talk about Chris every chance you get, specially with family and friends, don't hold this back as it is part of the healing process. Right now and maybe not for some time this may not mean much to you, but it does get better. You are not alone in your grief and other loved ones will be helped by your lead in this. Grief is probably the most painful thing a human being can experience so have no expectations of how long it takes or how to act during this. It takes as long as it takes to heal and you are not alone.

Thank you. We talk about him every day. Knew this was a great community, really appreciate how many caring people are here. Too hard to get on here and read, tho, esp the build thread cuz of all the memories (he loved that green fender! lol). I'll try to respond to pm's and in the future prob update the build thread.

In the build thread the last video was me driving. Chris forgot to turn on the GoPro for my 3rd session which was my best. So, I wanted to go out for a couple laps and get one good one in. Last lap I got a decent lap in and was happy so I pulled in. Tougher being in the advanced group and having to point by faster cars to finally get some open track.

I was also driving in the flyby vid down the straight. It was his first time hearing the 510 from the outside watching. It was a great day.

In the build thread, he got pulled over because I told him to NASCAR draft. He was about a foot off my bumper. MPG ftw!

I told him the night before the accident to gnite and get some sleep cuz we have the rest of our lives together. Never imagined it was our last 12hr...

If you guys want any remembrance decals for the 510, send me a PM. I'll design and send down whatever you need.
