datzenmike Posted May 18, 2015 Report Share Posted May 18, 2015 Have replaced the pinion gear back in and will live with the 6.5 MPH fast at 50 MPH. Transmission full of that 'new' GM AC Delco Synchromesh Transmission Fluid. So far it runs about the same as the semi-synthetic I originally had but I wasn't sure if it was totally compatible with the brass rings. Feel better now. Down shifts are maybe a little easier. There was never any grinding just a firm push needed to get into first if rolling around a corner. Now it 'feels' a bit easier. (maybe) Bet this stuff would be the tits in the cold of winter, but I don't drive mine then. Heater fan switch was totally rusted/frozen and a bitch to get it out. Took apart cleaned and greased and now have a 4th speed!! Cleaned out leaves plugging fan. One hose to defrost is missing will try to find something. Quote Link to comment
