mrbigtanker
Wow where did you get the glass 1 Quote Link to comment
finney
Glass looks real nice. I plan on replacing my long side windows in my V520 with a single piece glued in. Looks like the glass is stamped? Did you go with tempered safety glass or just laminated? Any further info on the front 1 piece conversion? 1 Quote Link to comment
Bory
No it's tempered, and tinted, full safety glass, Good news I'm gonna offer the one piece as a kit form 5 Quote Link to comment
Bory
The diff mounts look a little thin compared to the robust frame end. Here are the new brackets I made 1 Quote Link to comment

Jester
I really like all the little details throughout this truck. Like the holes in the body mount gussets. 1 Quote Link to comment
Bory
So I'm getting started on the flush mount windshield, which will allow the bonding method rather than the rubber gasket, there is 2 ways of getting this done, 1. Cut a larger ws, 2. Make the receptacle smaller. I Have been quoted up to 7000 bucks for a bigger ws. So I'm gonna do the latter. 2 Quote Link to comment
Bory
After removing rubber, I let the glass slide down till it bottomed out, I used Popsicle sticks for the proper gap. Here you can see how much I have to close up the opening. 2 Quote Link to comment
Bory
The first thing I'm doing is building the new flange, I'm using vertical blinds as a pattern, traced the radius of the top edge, then cut it out and transfer on to some 18 G sheet metal 1 Quote Link to comment
Bory
Here you can see the gap is not consistent 1 Quote Link to comment
mklotz70
I think I'd be more tempted to raise the glass to the top and fill in the bottom. I think it would be a lot less noticeable at the bottom and wouldn't affect your field of vision. 2 Quote Link to comment
Bory
Actually it's only 1/2" of fill I have to do, and I actually want a subtle body mod that you can see if you have a good eye for it, kinda like the 63 bugs had slightly smaller side glass than the later ones. Glass is gonna have a 1" of black paint on the edge to hide the butyl bond, with a polished edge. Using the stock glass as a pattern, and have a grey smoke one coming. 1 Quote Link to comment
mklotz70
You have a new windshield coming? Why not have it made a 1/2" bigger? It will look pretty sweet with a glued in windshield.....looking forward to seeing it. 1 Quote Link to comment
