thisismatt
I guess I have a turtle. Found it in my yard. My fenced in yard. On top of my rock wall. Where a typical fucking turtle would not be. Ever. So I named it Amelia, after Amelia Earhart, and I'm now not taking a bath tonight. Guess why. Because you're not a little girl? Hmmm, no, that's not it... 2 Quote Link to comment

a.d._510_n_ok
you wouldn't think people would pay $165 for this crap but eBay told me different. the t-shirts were 75¢ a piece at Goodwill back in the 90s. the glasses were $2 for the pair at a garage sale a few years back. wife and I are sinking the proceeds into some antique kitchen and bathroom stuff. tr8er
It appears to be a female red eared slider. Turtle. And it must have flown in. No other way to explain it. And, unfortunately I'm not a little girl. Gender aside, I'd love to be a kid again. Quote Link to comment
q-tip
Red eared sliders native over there? I would guess not, escaped pet perhaps. Quote Link to comment
tr8er
We are thinking it escaped. But I do live along a stream. So it's possible it was born wild. Species not native. She's so tame though, must be a pet. Quote Link to comment
fritzdixxon
Released pet is likely, people don't realize how much work it is changing shitty turttle water get tired of them an set them free. 1 Quote Link to comment
tr8er
I'm going to try aquaponics with her. No more cleaning poo. I've successfully run dozens of Tilpia this way successfully. They will play together nicely I presume. Quote Link to comment
q-tip
So long as the tilapia aren't small enough for the turtle to eat they will be fine. 1 Quote Link to comment
fritzdixxon
Might she eat the plants? Quote Link to comment
tr8er
She may eat both. Tilpia babies are always plentiful. It's messed up, but tilapia eat their young. The tank maintains population. My turtle can eat all she wants. Plants would be fine too. I can grow stuff I want outside of her pond. This is already getting expensive in my head. Anyone ever use spray able pond liner? D.O.T regulation on tire widths.....yes those thin tires will damage asphalt roadways due to the weight distribution at the point of contact with the ground. Great engineering fellas!
