datrod
well...i've decided to put a KA24DE in my goon. A friend of mine called me up this morning and told me about his friend that has a KA24de from a 1995 240sx with 80,000mi with 5sp gearbox (i never liked the word tranny....i'm not putting a transvestite in my car :D) and everything needed for the swap... $600 ...since I don't have time or the tool and know-how to do it myself, im dropping my goon at his house first thing tomorrow morning. Another friend will be doing the install and wiring. ...$1400 I'd say thats a pretty good price~ heads up: as soon as it is out, my perfect running complete L16 will be for sale -goki Dude you SUCK. So you still want the pedal assy I have for the gear box change. gokiburix
Before: 8-17-08: I have a 510 Front Anti Sway Bar 1.125"/28mm for $130.00. Greatly improves handling...too bad I can't use it anymore with the swap, so anyone interested, PM me. Thought I'd let my fellow goons in on it first before going to classifieds. :P Quote Link to comment

Gensaiken
Question for some of you other wagon guys. What are you all running for gas caps? Are you still running the simple twist off type or have you all moved to locking caps? I'm considering putting a locking one on my wagon but I don't know if i'm just being paranoid. They are pretty ugly caps. Quote Link to comment
hang_510
i have a stant chrome button style. cant afford gas so how could a i afford a 'real' locking cap  Quote Link to comment

If it looks nice I wouldn't mind getting one. Supposedly they have the locking ones for 510 wagons but I hear they don't fit right. :( Quote Link to comment

benzo
That's a nice goon benzo.:Dthanks, wish I can find a locking gas cap for not too expensive as well as a factory tach. I am not worried about the tach so much as I might put a autometer or get something from Japan. still have to fine tune my motor some but all in all it is a fun car to drive around. still working on some more suspension items for the rear Quote Link to comment
Gensaiken
wanted to post some updated pics since I last posted pics in this thread. Wagon is getting closer to completion. One thing I wanted to ask you wagon folk is do any of you guys have retractable lap belts on all the seats in your wagon? I have retractable lap belts on each seat front and rear but no shoulder harness. Any one seen this? Was this some one's "cool" idea? Wagon was made in 71 if that helps. Quote Link to comment

hang_510
my 72 has shoulder belts, the shoulder part fits(rotate and lock style) into the lap clip. they are not retractable (i had to add that) this is the only photo i could find of part#10623. its not exactly the one i have, but very close. i took 3-4 outside and they let me determine the best (single lock vs dual) http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://media.mydoitbest.com/imagerequest.aspx%3Fsku%3D570079%26size%3D2%26warehouse%3DC%26newsize%3D200&imgrefurl=http://doitbest.com/Gas%2BCaps-Stant%2BMfg.-model-11623-doitbest-sku-570079.dib&h=200&w=200&sz=7&hl=en&start=1&usg=__2ZFVMakh7P6LEfzpHCAOXaB3tcY=&tbnid=ujhTvOdWlZCaQM:&tbnh=104&tbnw=104&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dsite:media.mydoitbest.com%2Bstant%2Bgas%2Bcap%2B-locking%26as_st%3Dy%26gbv%3D2%26ndsp%3D20%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Doff why a locking gas cap is a good idea... I'm still looking in to a locking cap, want to make sure I cover everything before I just jump in to buying one. My silver 510 has the type of belts you are talking about. It seems like almost every 510 had them as well. I'm going to guess the retractable ones on my wagon were a custom job. Might take them out and use the shoulder harness out of my silver car. I just don't feel that safe with only lap belts... Quote Link to comment
