q-tip
Mustang-powered early Maverick... So much want... The 73 comet I recently became the care taker for needed a carburetor for over a year before my almost father in law decided to just buy one. I kept threatening that I was going to put a 5.0 and a 5 speed in it and shit can the straight 6. Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
I kept threatening that I was going to put a 5.0 and a 5 speed in it and shit can the straight 6. Always thought this was the best plan, until I saw what a tight squeeze the V8 is in a Maverick... ^_^ 1 Quote Link to comment

Jesse C.
Always thought this was the best plan, until I saw what a tight squeeze the V8 is in a Maverick... ^_^ Why would that be? They came with a V-8 as well as the 6 Cylinder Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
Why would that be? They came with a V-8 as well as the 6 Cylinder Indeed they did. It was a tight squeeze from the factory too. ^_^ If you have the shallow "block hugger" iron manifolds (like the factory used), it fits decent. This car had Hooker long tube headers with some denting I would personally be uncomfortable with. It would be a simple fix before the engine went it to notch the strut towers for better clearance. And plenty of stock engine bays look like 10 pounds of crap in a 5 pound bag... :P 2 Quote Link to comment
q-tip
It's a long engine bay but it most certainly is not wide. Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
It's a long engine bay but it most certainly is not wide. Straight 8! Quote Link to comment
