Have you given your engine in there now a chance?

Yes i have given her a chance it is a runner but i am tossing the idea around.They are bitchin motors and just cool period when you pop the hood.The only thing that i am learning is it is hard to get parts for it,and a ka24 would be cheaper i just think they are so over done.and then drew recommened the ca18det and that was another idea,maybe i will just go back to the ls2 with a narrowed rear end.

Yeah my ute has taken a back seat until I get a couple other cars sorted and sold, which is almost done. So starting to focus a little more on mine, just need to gather a few more parts.

As for engine conversions why dont you keep the L series and put a KA24de head on and get a manifold to suit the webers you already have? But if you decide to change I would give the FJ20 :thumbup:

 

CA18 and SR20 conversions here in Oz are a dime a dozen, a bit like the KA24 conversion over there. You see so much of it it's really easy to loose interest and the conversion becomes boring.

I have always been a fan of the 20B triple rotor and if I ever do a conversion in my Roadster that what it will be.

The best light ever for 5.75 conversions was the Cibie CSR but has been discontinued sadly (I think the building that made them burnt down or something and the molds were lost)

Aussie how you doing,wow you dont want 2 but 3 rotors talk about LOUD haha but talk about some serious horsepower to.Do you have any links or hook ups i should say on fj20 parts in your down under world.I have found a few but the only draw back is buying parts money is one thing but getting them is another.I am thinking of going carbed to dont want alot of horsey's just something diffrent and some what old school. cheers mate

HAYN, if your going conventional lighting, Cibie is the only name that matters regarding quality. I'm working on installing some into some spare buckets I have. Takes a little fab. As for the HID's, I could probably live with it. If you put in angel eyes, don't drive around me at night, I'll be embarrassed.

Yeah parts can be a little harder to get now, especially now as more people are leaning back to old skool a bit more.

Motor swap already? Didn't you just put the existing one in? Ill take it off your hands if you're not happy with it. :)
