Farmer Joe
ill admit, there wasnt alot to get it running... its pretty much a 12v L series now.. adam, fernando is doin a twin cam swap as we speak. lookin at his and all the shit it comes with makes my head spin. if i had a twin cam, it would be on carbs too.. lol. im kind of fond of the single cams tho. its the exhaust note. DE sounds like an SR, and im no cool with that. gonna go try and find the last piece of the exhaust today, and maybe get the rad, and the fan goin.. Quote Link to comment

Farmer Joe
well, i got it to drving conditions today.. water in the rad, fan wired up, webers on. it fires right up with the weber, and under no load runs fine.. i dont know whats up with the mid range tho. prolly over jetted.. got the exhaust done. wont even hit the ground again. no rattles either. took it for a spin to fernandos house.. found out the webers jetting is all kinds of no good right now.. few pics.. video is uploading still.. Farmer Joe
okie dokie got the 38 apart, and found all the jet sizes. its all stock weber sizes, except the air correctors. its got 170s. weber stock jet sizes are: mains 145 idles 45 aircorrectors 185 would the 170 air correctors goof up the mid range? im still gonna do what bill said, and tear it apart to do a deep clean. also gonna grab jasons old 32/36, toss the rebuild kit, and my set of jets as a workaround till i can get the 38 dialed in. more to come. Farmer Joe
well i got it figured out. out another weber on it today, and it was better. still had the reall bad midrange stumble. started elimating the vacuum leads and bam, find out that the vacuum advance is funny. the ported vacuum from the carbs seems to pulse at mid range pretty bad. prolly the way the intake isnt supposed to be use like this. so i have a rough guess on the timing now, without the advance. its now runs awesome! now i have had the lifters start clickin in and out a few times now. i think im gonna change the oil and filter again, and be done with it till before canby. heres a vidya... Farmer Joe
nice! yeah we should totally get a little meet goin. name a time and place and ill show! i drove it the 25 miles to work today.. when cruising around 55-65 it has lots more power. it does start to foul the plugs after extended runs tho.. i need an electronic ignition to actually burn the added fuel. seems i need a smaller nozzle jet for the accel pump. it dumps way too fuel on low throttle situations when cruising and whatnot. i have to clear it out alot. all in all im happy with it! it didnt get hot, it only vapor locked like once. i need to get the timing for sure figured out, and i think ill be good. more to come 1 Quote Link to comment
