got the truck started today... its been below 10 degrees for the last couple weeks, and something with the starter was frozen.. 

 

finally thawed out it seems. 

 

im gonna get the intake off the KA here soon and get it s stripped down to basics.. time to get this shit goin...

bringing this back from the dead. 

 

my redeye KA motor mounts will be here tomorrow. 

 

this means its time to get to business. check this list of shit out..

 

motor mounts

gaskets - oil pan, intake, exhaust...

oil pan and pickup tube

aluminum plate for carb adapter

exhaust patch in

brake job, front and rear shoes

delete load sensing valve

repack front wheel bearings

re-gear to 3.70, re-oil rear.

*3link with panhard setup. 

subaru GL rear struts. 

swaybar bushings

swaybar end links

tie rods

put the stock gas tank recessed in the bed. 

oil pressure gauge

temp gauge 

tach

electric fan

putting battery in the bed too. 

wiper blades. 

 

 

i feel kind sick typing all that out..

 

ive got the means to alot of it already, ive just been working on everyone elses shiz the last few weeks. 

 

expect some updates.

oh yeah, i for got to mention, this all has to be done by the week before canby... woo!

were back on track.

 

have the motor mounts, and oil pan now. waiting on the oil pan gasket. 

 

at least the engine is ready to put in. this next tuesday and wednesday are for getting the z24 out, and the KA in. 

 

i need to get the bed off again, and plot out the link bar arrangement, and get it welded up.

no disk brakes yet... thats after canby, hopefully if the toyota doesnt drain my wallet to get it running again..

 

i did plan on mounting the bars with the springs still in... thing is, the axle needs to come back like 1/4-3/8in. the jankly leaf setup moves it too far forward as it is right now.. 

 

if i can get eriks starter working on his truck, then im in the clear for the next few weekends.

anyways, got the KA mounted.. still have some bolts tighten up. 

 

honestly, this just plopped right in. i had a few oh fuck moments, but it all worked out. 

 

redeyes motor mounts are fucking boss... highly recommended if youre gonna do a KA swap. stand up dude too!! thanks man!

thanks man! 

 

didnt think it would be so easy, but it just fell into place... 

 

when we did jasons KA swap with these mounts, we had a hell of a time getting the isolators in the right spot to bolt em up. 

 

this time it just lined up. piece of cake...

i got some more stuff today! 

 

scored the subaru rear spring assemblies. fancy talk for cheap coil overs... :lol:

so that those.. good stuff. 

 

as a note, i also found a piece of aluminum plate and assorted crossmember materials at dads house. 

 

i have an adjustable panhard bar in the works too. dad has the front end from a 75 f150 that has these nice beefy tierods that adjust nicely. its also got a panhard on it thats in a wierd shape, but has a nice end with a mount and bushing that im going to graft together.

 

overall, i had a good weekend for the truck.. lol

the bags got traded off... done with that phase.

 

theyre wide14u's now, so we might end up using em on his yellow longbed...

 

speakin of jason though, he picked up a 3.70 gearset for $40 for me.. yay! 

 

got my second swaybar end link kit. 

 

the fan is still on order to be shipped... kinda wonderin when theyre gonna ship it...

Fiddled with it a little bit today..

 

Got all the bellhousing and motor mounts tight now.

 

Got the l series distributor mounted and ready to go..

 

Other than the carb adapter its pretty much ready to start.

 

Oh yeah, the fan is finally on its way also.
