Story of my car's life, as of late...

Me too.

Saving for a house sucks. Everytime i look at how much money i have saved i think about buying another datsun.

But i did get myself a welder so i can attempt my own rust repairs once i have a shed.

Hey SIX-TEN, thats a nice sedan!! welcome!!

Thanks man, yeah it has taken quite a fair bit of work to get it like that, unfortunately the right hand side guard got damaged so it has one mismatched panel, also the wheels are now gone and have replaced them with some Work Equip 03s

First off, Welcome to Ratsun!

Your 180B is simply too clean for words. Breathtaking. I cannot wait to hear more about this engine swap. Gives me many ideas...

Where did you get the air dam in the front? I didn't think I wanted one on my sedan until I saw this one on your sedan. Very clean look.

Thank you :)

The engine swap is fairly straight forwards, I'm using a DatSport front end and the entire engine bay has been re done in bare metal, took me quite a while to do actually lol. All it needs for it to be finished is transmission, fuel system setup, wiring and exhaust system, the problem I'm facing at the moment is finding the time to work on it and also funds have been a bit low since we moved to our new house about 2-3 months ago.

The front lip is off a MK1 Golf GTi, I purchased it off a online shop in the UK, it fits quite well and is the right length tho I'm a picky bastard and I'm thinking on replacing it with a proper JDM fibreglass item just like the Hakos and Kenmeri's in Japan...

I will try to post up some more photos soon.

Hi Guys,

Found some more photos in my PB account, these are of the engine bay prior to the engine going in, I have some more of the interior and engine bay with the old L18 but on another PC; promise to upload them later.

Oh managed to find one of the interior, Early Jap SSS dash, Nardi classic steerer, LED lights. This was taken a few months before I decided to go SR20, you can see an L20 in the background which I was going to EFI Turbo but for realiablity issued I decided not to go with it and sold it all off to fund the SR20 engine.

First off, FOR THE WIN you have it at 6:10 on the clock

What LEDs are you running on the dash? Love the look , want to find something where I don't keep buying LEDS and finding that they are whitish, or NOT BLUE...

I want this dash so bad, it hurts that my car is not a RHD. One day I will find a way to make this happen. What are the other gauges on the center console? A larger picture would be GREAT!!!

Hahaha good eye sight! I gace the whole cluster a nice clean and decided it would be pretty cool if I set the clock 6:10 lol

I actually bought them off some guy at the local market, he has a stand with all sorts of lights, he even sells HID kits and these LED lights, they're the wedge type as per the original ones, just have to make sure they go in the right way so they light up, not cheap though the set of LEDs cost me something like $35!!!

The ones on the console are Defi type gauges, so they have that blacked out look when off and light up and do a sweeping of the needle when firt turned on,they have RaceTech on them, pretty good quality for some cheap ebay gauges

Yeah i know if only you guys got these clusters then I could have bought a whole bunch from the US.

Oh BTW I'm after some Datsun-610 badges to finish off my theme, I have a pair but only one is good so need another one, willing to swap with my original 180B ones :D

And here is the larger pic as requested + one fo the whole lot turned off:

I need to find my box of goodies that I had ready for an Australian trip. 2 complete pairs of 610 emblems, (Too bad you shaved your rear marker light spots) A complete pair of US spec rear side marker lights, US spec Heater Control fascia, and US spec Hazard switch, all different than the AU counterparts...I need to find that box...

Oh nah we never had those rear markers on ours, only the SSS hardtop models did for some reason???

Hahaha hate it when that happens, I just moved and I still can't find half of my stuff!!!

i dont mean to step on zerow's toes but i also have a set of us 610 emblems :P

nice sedan man look at all the room proof that the 610 has a larger engine compartment then the 510

(Wearing steel toe boots) Not hurt, brother. I have the rarest emblems of them all... ;)

Hahaha nah those were there before I took those photos, actually the whole road was filled with black lines!!!

To answer the question I don't :(

Yet that is lol

I'm planning on replacing the rear end with one out of a R30 Skyline, they came with IRS, CV shafts and disc rear brakes, also thinking on making up my own coilovers.

The beauty about the R30 rear is that you gain 20mm track each side, CV shafts replace the uni half shafts and the springs are located within a Mc Pherson strut rather than on the swing arm like on the 510/610s

Also might replace the diff with a R180 and lock it up for track duties ;)

Here is a photo of what the R30 rear looks like under the rear of a 510
