skunk
Still not sure whats wrong with my brake lights, i started at the fuse box and followed the wires into the dash and all the way back to the tail lights them self. Im sure theres somthing im missing, i just dont see why they dont work..... Took some time to clean the carbs a bit to, man was there alot of build up in side. Played around with tuneing them a bit, i think im starting to get it.They still need to be sync but i dont have the tool to do that. Quote Link to comment

I was adding a manual blinker to a friends car and the tail lights were in the wrong spot, I ended up splicing the brake lights (I need to fix it) but now the brake lights arent working either. I'm thinking I might have jiggled a connection loose on the brake light switch at the pedal. I would check that there's 12volts coming out of the switch on both sides, especially when the brake pedal is pressed down and start from there. Quote Link to comment
skunk
yeah im just about readdy to give up, i fucking hate doing Electrical shit. i cant get the brake lights to work. on top of that my throttle rod thing broke..... i just want to switch to throttle cable. so any one have a extra throttle rod (i hope im calling it the right thing) they could give up? izzo
Use the welder and stick it back together man :D how did you break it? Quote Link to comment
skunk
the welder is crap, and the metal that rod is made out of it so hard for the welder, its a real cheep pos a friend let me use and its not doing me much good. the rod was welded together by one of the PO, but it was shorted to the point that i had about 1 inch of gas pedle i was trying to see if i could get a little more play in the gas pedle and it just snaped Quote Link to comment

Got the alt swap just about done. then went to the junk yard and now its raining and all wet out side. Ill have to finish up what i didnt do today tomorrow. Just got to do some wiring to the VR and go to pic up a throttle cable. Then Ill start looking at the brake lights again. oh and if you could bring that throttle rod to canby that would be great, what im doing may fix it but it might not. I think the 710 is going to make it but im not seeing the 510 make it, but im going to try Quote Link to comment

skunk
Ok so this is what i used to fix my little problem, I started by buying a throttle cable kit. Every thing eles is random stuff i had laying around. I put a battery connector on the throttle cable put it around the knob on the gas peddle Then i cut the origianl throttle link, cut it and used it as a stoper to hold the throttle cable on the gas peddle. so first part done, Next was the link on the carb itself, so i took a throttle cable linkage off a extra carb i had laying around and welded it on the normal 510 throttle rod Then to plug the big hole that was left i cut a round piece of rubber and tossed two extra gas tank spacer/washers on it(one on each side. i had to run the cable kinda funny all and all it seems to work well. havnt took it on a road test, but i will as soon as i get the alt in there. skunk
i got the stuff to make my custom SU air box/filters :D also found a cool way to fix/replace the broken glass in my pass side fender mirror that i broke the day i got them. Quote Link to comment
skunk
so, i got some fender mirror off ebay a few weeks ago, the took about 2 weeks to get to me and the day i got them i broke the glass in the pass side mirror  . but i found a cool way to fix it. Seeing i got a wink mirror and can see every thing behind me and dont really need a pass side mirror, its only there because one fender mirror would just look funny. so heres the pass side, i used a piece of leather and just worked it into a cool little pic (jessis dad is a leather worker, he helped out alot). i still need to seal it in and re paint the paint i chiped off droping it when i broke the glass. not %100 done, i just could not help but show it off. :D Quote Link to comment
