Only ran the car for a total of 10min totle from the point i payed for it. i havnt fixed the the tank yet but im geting the stuff to fix the tank this weekend (i hope). I think i will get a second filter, i guess it wouldnt hurt. When I picked up my 710 the gas was at least as old as 2002 when the owner died. I threw $20 in and got 10 miles before it plugged up. I pulled the bottom hose off (literally) and banged it against the inner fender and orangy rusty crap fell out. Another twenty miles and had to do again but ran all the rest of the 120 miles home fine. Have to flush out the tank (rust) but the filter did it's job. They are inexpensive but get a brand name one. I had a cheap one on my 620 and when I replaced it I did a Hainz CSI on it, cut it open to inspect, and the filter element was flopping around inside! Quote Link to comment

Then un hook the fuel and return lines undo tbhe 4 mounting bolts pull out the sebder look inside and see how it is the lining may still be good and you can clean it ou with a chain and some degreeser Quote Link to comment
skunk Posted May 1, 2010 Author Report Share Posted May 1, 2010 yeah, im going to pop the tank out first chance i get, next weekend im guessing. i have some of the por 15 gas tank sealer im going to put in there when im at it. i have no idea what brand name the filter i got was :blink: .Whats a good brand to trust? i think im going to put a extra one on there too, i like that idea. INDY510 Posted May 1, 2010 Report Share Posted May 1, 2010 Crack kills... There are only 4 bolts holding the 510 tank in....... .. I used marbles to scrape the inside of my fuel tank.... It might be a good idea to use marbles and gas to get the big chunks out......... and then use that por-15 tank treatment Quote Link to comment

skunk Posted May 8, 2010 Author Report Share Posted May 8, 2010 new tires, still havnt got them on my car yet but i will soon. got the gas tank out, cleaned it going to POR the inside today. spent some time working on the rust in the trunk. not that bad, i got some sheet metal i just need a welder. Found bolts and what not to get the grill together.also spent some time seeing what of the dash i have. not much lol. im going out here now to get some more done. Quote Link to comment
skunk Posted May 9, 2010 Author Report Share Posted May 9, 2010 got the tires on had to get all ratsun on the hood. when taking the hood off i busted 3 of the 4 bolts off.Tryed drilling out and useing a back out but no luck.Worked on one but the other two were done for. so i just made it woke, i think it looks cool. also got the tank coated in POR 15 spent most of the day cleaning up my area in the shead i keep all my parts in.
