Duke
I agree with the OP, L-16 is where it is at, with a little side note. My ideal L-16 would have a twin cam head of the OS Giken or Nissan LZ variety. That would be nearly perfect in my book. Quote Link to comment
LeX
my personal choice would be a FJ20e with sidedrafts . yum Quote Link to comment
Jesse C.
I love a hard running L motor, but, I am going VG30 and later VG33. And oh yeah, who are you? Intro? Quote Link to comment

HRH
Z-OMG.... This is the awesomest thread ever!!! I agree the L16 is the ultimate 510 engine... But I think Datzenmike is right,,, a SBC would be even awesomer.... If I was building a drag 510 I would probably just go with a simple clean V12 swap: I only see 5 intake runners per side, does it go under the cowl through the firewall? Quote Link to comment

Spades
hrm...if I was going to make it a drag car and didnt want to go to the work involved to put a large motor in....chevy 4.3 v6 with a supercharger on it. if I didnt mind munching into the sheetmetal...would be fun to see a big block 502 in a datsun for sh-ts and giggles. if I was looking at a better engine than what I had now for a daily driver... CA18DET... p.s. yes, it is kind of a lame introduction post, especially given the fact he put the "stock l16" as his personal favorite...but, cut the noob some slack I guess and just have some fun with theoretical swaps :D Quote Link to comment
