Pacific coast Datsun
Ok heres the rack as of a few days ago. I applied 3 coats of colonial maple stain so it matches the steering wheel. Waiting now for the metal to rust up a bit more then ill clear gloss the entire rack. I 'aged" the wood by placing rusty pieces of metal over the wood then getting it wet a few times... 2 Quote Link to comment

gene knight
Haha PCD,I think you're getting brain freeze from the ice you've been delivering 1 Quote Link to comment
Pacific coast Datsun
Ok the new / used radiator has been cleaned & painted. Ill be going with a metal shroud this time. All mounting holes line up except 2 on the shroud. 1 Quote Link to comment
Pacific coast Datsun
Allright..I've removed the black paint & I'll leave the brass exposed & painted the rest grey. Im guessing this radiator came out of an automatic seeing that is has the 2 ports on the bottom plus it's a 3 core which will help keep it kooler. Ill run a hose from one to the other to eliminate that issue & ill run a factory metal shroud on this one that may or may not be painted... 2 Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
That's enough of that... I see it again cruzndude and there will be a mod approval applied. Yay, a pic  1 Quote Link to comment
gene knight
what did you use to make the brass shine up and black paint to be removed. i will trade you 1 of mine so that way you don't have to worry about transmission lines sticking out and metal shroud clearance issues 1 Quote Link to comment

Gene i used brush on paint remover & a wire brush followed by alot of hand sanding to get the black paint off. The shroud is no biggie..the lower holes dont line up so ill make a few tabs. 2 Quote Link to comment

Pacific coast Datsun
Been toying around with finishing my homemade mirror...& leaving it bare metal of course... 2 Quote Link to comment
gene knight
2 things wrong with that. 1 it's backwards, 2 you won't be able to see anything without mirror glass Quote Link to comment
Pacific coast Datsun
The plan was to have a piece of glass cut & adhered to the recess & not paint the rest of it. I may instead make a more "rat rod" style mirror using some Datsun parts not designed as mirrors..... 2 Quote Link to comment
gene knight
I bet they will look bad ass awesome 1 Quote Link to comment
