  1. not sure i understood all of that hainz. lol man are you ok, you havent been drinking alot latley have you? just kidding hainz i know your a busy dude. i guess my question was in what case do you need to shim an l series starter? i swapped to 5 speed and about 3 out of 5 times the gear just spins and never engages the flywheel, the flywheel is in great shape and it worked fine before i swapped to the 5 speed and automatic solenoid. should i just buy a rebuilt starter or just swap the solenoid back to the auto starter and swap on the whole auto starter assembly?
  2. hey hainz i installed my 5 speed from a z car and i used my original starter but i had to use a solenoid off of an automatic starter because mine went bad, before it used to crank every time and now that i swapped those parts sometimes you can hear the gear turning but it doesnt engange the flywheel and sometimes it does, does it need to be shimmed or something?
  3. any fo you run kendall, isky recommends it for their cams, and i saw a chemical breakdown of it and it has like twice or 3 times the zinc and some other important ingredient than the other oils.
  4. hell mike on my new motor ive run it fairly hard, hell my dad wound it out to 6k after its first 60 miles!!! but since then ive gave it hell with no problems, hell i run it like a race car damn near every day, i passed this idiot today and held it wide open in 5th untill i got up to about 80 or 90, then prcedeed to yell "fuck yeah" at the top of my lungs and let off the accelarator to hear the mikunis wind down. god i love l20b's!!! geeze in like a week ive put probably 200 or more miles on it. no problems yet, i guess if i would have forgot to tighten somethin git would have exploded by now.

  6. just wondering if you ever tried torching it out, use a cutting torch and blow the metal out of there, it sometimes works but is super easy to fuck up, that high carbon steel burns real good!!

  8. ummm dude you do realize the l20b takes a bigger radiator, thats why the core support on the 620's changed when they changed over to the 2.0 to account for the bigger radiator

  14. can someone please cover how to swap to a one piece driveline? is it the goon shaft that bolts right in??
  15. i doubt the manifold side would be warped enough to make it leak but the flange side would be, i made a flange out of 1/4 inch plate and its been working great! just use the gasket as a template !

      That's a little wide and tall. is your truck lowered at all?

      I got 225 45's on mine sitting on titans. There's maybe an 1 1/2" (guess?) between tire and frame in the back. Front may rub going any wider.

  19. yeah im curious if you are gonna wrap it in some sort of material or are you gonna glazing putty it then paint it? nice job by the way!!
  20. after looking at the picture you have plenty of metal left on that thing to chisel it out, try pb blaster and heat if you cant get it to move, use the pb after the bolt is warm so it will "sweat " up into the bolt hole just like if you were brazing joints on copper piping.
  21. any of you guys ever tried a hammer and a chisel working around the outside edge as to chisel the bolt counter clockwise to get it out, i have done this many many times with great success!!!! make sure the chisel is sort of dull so it doesnt just cut a piece off of the bolt though. light taps and carefull holding of the chisel.

  23. so the flat spot at high rpms is more or less a carb tuning issue at this point correct? i have a mikuni manual but it seems vague about setting mixture, the manual doesnt give starting points it just states set pilot then idle pilot then idle screws. i think i have it closer, i definitely made progress today on it but it takes alot of tuning and driving.
  24. i do understand everybodys opinion and their side to the argument, i wouldnt want the same thing to happen to me either. dont worry beebani or anybody else making brackets, im not gonna copy your stuff and undercut you, although i cant say i wont build some type of bracket and sell it to those wanting some, i also cannot promise they wont be cheaper than yours as im sure they probably will be. so no hard feelings eh???
