  1. Yeah, Nissan used it in quite a few cars and vans. I think its funny that an engine that is the R16 but larger displacement has been produced so long.
  2. also you guys do know the H20 for forklifts came with propane right? I'm sure with a roadster transmission attached to it anyone here could easily convert to propane.
  3. I wana paint mine, though people might think plaid will be quite the strange look.
  4. Yeah and the best part is I just pretty much hit a loophole on taxes with it. Trailers don't get registered in OK, and since the camper goes in the bed of a truck its the same. lol I'll have to get pictures of it up it looks like a circus tent lol.
  5. does it have the finned oil pan? If so how much?
  6. If we could get cars running off Methane then DC alone could supply the US with enough fuel for a few lifetimes.
  7. I wish I could get the dents out of these front fenders on my datto.

beat them out as much as I could, the metal just wont level out. It is time to replace them really but I'm cheap lol

I guess I need OICs of the dents, they'd look goofy bondo'd up

  8. hot swapable batteries would be good too, but I laugh at the Volt's 35 miles per charge. As for the HHO don't get started on that again. lol Basicly to sum it up, you can't make something from almost nill. You'd need to produce the hydrogen somewhere else to have any positive effect but then cost of power... When the roadster's engine goes out I'm looking into something diesel and plan on having a turbo diesel roadster lol
  9. converting to EFI would produce best results, wont really increase power overall but will increase mileage.
  10. buy the fuse box and wire and make one, though the ebay harnesses aren't much more then buying the supplies. That or find a used one.
  11. so how many people did it take to push it and you steer? I kid, I bet it was nice to drive it I still am waiting for mine to get drivable hell starting it again was like amazing!
  12. For some reason my brain saw shortage instead of storage and my first thought after that was.. Well maybe if half of our sheds burnt down as there will be datto parts stashed all over. I've got a few sheds, not very large but enough to stash all my junk and parts. You'd be surprised at how much of a shop you can turn a 10x12 building into.
  13. No, but plenty of jackasses try to act like they can fix them but cant. They get used parts and they fuck up and want me to fix the broken part thats 100 years old and needs replaced.
  14. on the bright side least now you wont have some parking lot jackass dent your datto
  15. lol this also can apply for computers as well.
  16. http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Vintage-Sprint-Car-Body-Components,1525.html seems I might be able to use premade parts, wont be as cool as doing it myself but make things a hell of a lot easier.
  17. Though wont be as cool as the wish bone front end, I'll be going with a VW front beam as locally they are cheaper then dirt and with a solid rear axle, something with an LSD. The engine I'm planning on keeping nissan, I want DOHC if possible but need to keep the size small. All I can say about the body so far is lots of rivets and a lot of hammering.
  18. I'd been tinkering around with originally building a street legal formula V (vw based racecar) from my old bug, but then poking around on a site that had been posted on 311s.org I found this http://www.earlydatsun.com/datsunnl7576.html and fell in love. So now onto the drawing board on making this a street legal Datsun NL-76 hot rod. I'm finishing up on my motorcycle project and my roadster is awaiting parts and for some reason I just seem to have a lot of junk laying around that would produce a rolling frame for such.
  19. fuck yeah, parts for the datto came in today!

  20. like skib said, just hit them with any sort of polish compatible with aluminum and should shine up just fine. If you plan on cracking them open I'd suggest getting a basic rebuild kit. You don't have to replace the needle, float, or such but I'd suggest replacing the gaskets.
  21. sounds like he just bit off more then he could chew, it happens. Fortunately noone else was harmed.
  22. My driveway is not you're overflow parking. I really really despise living next to rent houses, fortunately its legal for me to get their cars towed without notice.
  23. can someone hook the man up with a streetable Z motor? I know some of you have like 5-6 L series laying around
