Consumer product companies spend an average of 12% of their gross revenues on marketing that saps the viewer's intelligence. 99% of advertisements are an insult to humanity. I don't watch network TV programing because I want to protect my soul.

Not because you're blind?

I'll let myself out

I don't watch network TV because of the advertising. For some reason it just drives me nuts.I pay extra on my cable just so I can have HBO and all of the other movie channels.I pay for satellite radio so I hear music not some woke crap commercial.I quit watching football years ago especially the Super Bowl.If you need to advertise it that hard I don't want to buy it.

I have enough vision in my left eye to see porn, and I'm not going to waste that trying to watch commercials. My soul, my terms. 😜

I did, and thought shit damn, seriously? That's bit much for a Thursday morn, but look at the bright side. At least he doesn't have to watch TV commercials.

Funny? Odd? Crazy? thing is when I went to Google the story it turned up like five different instances of prisoners gouging their own peepers out....."If thine eye offends thee pluck it out" I guess....

On the same note, can anyone explain the Amazon commercial

that shows (I think) a girl in a skirt & a (barely) mustache,who buys

a Micheal Jackson outfit on Amazon that seems to make it's life great.

Not quite sure what I saw.

Well I finally saw it this morning.WTF was that about ?

There's a second one, same thing. It's about ordering vintage clothing on Amazon and doing your own thing. Or it's whatever you think it is. Stash wearing encourages women to be more masculine.

Not that there's anything wrong with that! : r/seinfeld

But I like my women clean shaven or as they say in the PNW, clear cut.

Not a Michael Jackson wanta be, but it's safe to say this campaign is not aimed at old men like us.

The spot opens with a young woman who sees unwanted facial hair for the first time (gen Z call it a "Tache"). She thinks about shaving it but realizes many of her idols have mustaches too, seeing Eddie Murphy, Frida Kahlo, Albert Einstein, and Freddie Mercury. She turns to Amazon Prime to purchase inspirational posters for her bedroom, buys a Freddie Mercury style jacket, and plays his music on Prime Music. So it's AMAZON to the rescue, where you can buy your way into feeling good about yourself!. see below.

For my daughter's generation, gender bending is seen as a form of confident extroversion so it's cool, and even sexy because it's edgy to own your tache if your a girl. My grand parents flipped out about "those long haired freaks", when I was a kid girls were nuts for David Bowey when he dressed as a woman and my parents flipped the F out, so really there's nothing new in this gen Z attention seeking zoo. We're not supposed to understand it. That's the point.
