I love the rack and pinion idea, except for my crossmember is heavily altered/modified for my F20C swap.

Need power steering in a 510? No. You need to not drive a 510 then.

Thanks for the insight, while the car is currently not up and running I had concerns with running wider tires (235) and being on tight autocross courses.

You can diy it for like a 15th of the price. 02-07 Saturn Vue electric steering unit, eBay module, and boom you have the same parts for a bit over a hundred. Then making it fit is up to you.

That is a lot of money to still have the junk steering box.  The only time stock steering with sticky tires is tough to turn is while stopped or barely rolling.

I autoX my dime and want to add power steering.  At super low speeds I have a tough time.  One coarse layout it cost me 1st place.  I'm going with the Vue system using the epowersteering DIY kit.

I'm not against faster responsive steering... I don't know if the 510 is awkward enough to need it. Certainly not stock. Wider tires maybe but this will certainly wrench the stock box around and hasten it's demise. Better build a steering box brace as well. 

 

I did build a PS (280zx PS box) set up for my 620 but it had 33" tires. You could throw the truck (over 3,400 lb.) into the other lane with the flick of the wrist. Great for avoiding things. I also stopped parking where I could just drive ahead to leave. Parallel parking was a snap after.

I'd go the rack route though.

I am going rack, with quick steer, and electric assist. Hopefully will get it hooked up to sense vehicle speed and completely disengage above a certain speed.

And fyi, epowersteering is a reseller of the eBay module, they even state it on their site.
