MikeRL411
left - right New 205/60/13 old 205/60/13 *** New 215/60/13 old 215/6013 It's not that much but the size difference magnifies the rear droop something fierce . This is a 185/60/13 snow ( i assume tread is taller than normal road tire) to show size is about the same. I got these a few weeks ago and might run them with 195/6014s on all 4 if worst comes to worst That snow tire is pre drilled for Titanium studs ! They work very well ! Most states have outlawed the studs by now, they really chew up the pavement if you are in a situation where you really need them [but you get home]. Had a pair on the rears of my RL411 in Montana. Really needed them and they came through. Moved to California and ended up giving them away. 3 Quote Link to comment

Bumper was put on Thursday night because i was going to drive it to Portland today.. Unfortunately there was a couple things that i couldn't get to, so i drove aunt Flo today.. If i take it off to re-install foglights i will take some for you  Ted has a video of our spirited drive down Skyline dr in Portland after meet,, but not sure where he's putting it ,, and if on Faceplant i won't be able to steal it to add to this mess. . . . . 2 Quote Link to comment

bananahamuck
Wayno's adapter plate needs a little bit of massaging to get exhaust thru to back.. Took a grinder and a die grinder and fucked some shit up... should be able to fit exhaust easily now. My neighbor Juan-Ear already put a Waynoplate in his 411 so knew how much needed to be ground off. Starter has been clocked down so far the inside of tranny starter hole needs some whittling also that's all i got 3 Quote Link to comment
wayno
I was wondering if you had done anything with the plate. Did you have any issues with the starter clearing on the other 411? Quote Link to comment
bananahamuck
@wayno starter misses distributor by a mile Quote Link to comment
wayno
Well that is weird, maybe your distributor is different as JJs starter/distributor were hitting each other until he did some grinding, them plates were made exactly the same. What front case did you use? Edited August 22, 2019 by wayno Quote Link to comment

wayno
So other than the grinding everything works fine? 1 Quote Link to comment
bananahamuck
Yes everything worked great ,, The one thing i'm probably going to change is,, When i remove to change engine ( didn't want to risk untested engine on that kind of maiden voyage) i am going to make the unused bump above where the exhaust is cut out,,,, into a taller bump with hole and tap transmission to install bolt from front of plate... to make exhaust bolt up way easier.. as it is now,, the top exhaust nut is almost impossible to get at,, So that would eliminate the bolt directly on top of exhaust,, but still retain ( i think) most of the strength .. on original engine ,, bump was a locating pin i believe maybe Edited August 29, 2019 by bananahamuck Quote Link to comment
wayno
There are 2 bumps, the one above and another one below if you didn't grind it off, you could likely delete the one near the exhaust if you drilled and tapped them or just drilled a hole all the way thru and used a bolt/nut/lock washer. Keep in mind here we are talking about a J13, but that is the only bolt on that side, I cut the upper exhaust stud a little shorter myself, but that is on an engine on a stand, not in a vehicle. Personally I know it is a pain but I would only have to tighten that mount bolt near the exhaust and the exhaust nut once so I would deal with it and not delete it. I tried to make a plate that didn't require a bunch of mods or changing things, it's kinda weird that Vons plate didn't require the inside of the transmission case to be ground on to clear the starter and yours did require grinding, maybe all the J13 blocks are not the same. Is your distributor different than Vons? Edited August 29, 2019 by wayno Quote Link to comment
