Pacific coast Datsun Posted December 30, 2010 Author Report Share Posted December 30, 2010 Ok day 2 & it was time to sandblast the cab & all the small parts.... forklift to the rescue.. the "hired work" all blasted... the floor had a few small surface rust spots... Charlie it's our pleasure to share the progress. The pix make it look easy & instant but as you know it takes long hours to make just a little progress :D Ok continuation of day 2... we had to blow out the sand...took awhile.. then got 1 thick coat of catalized laquer primer applied... then used 2 cans of undercoating under the cab... & heres the rocker that Guy built. Keep in mind theres NO body filler on it yet !!!!!!!!! ill have some day 3 pix up soon. Quote Link to comment

We've thought about a few different combo's & a 2 tone job was considered. As we tear more into this truck its amazing how untouched & re-useable all the parts are. So with that being said we think the paint should also look totally stock from the factory. Unless we change our minds it'll be an off white like the dash. Another wired find was found on the steering collum brace. It's some sort of "tag" or "receipt" written in Japanese & it's the size of a fortune cookie message !!! Ok more pix of day 2 & 3........ started in on the bed bodywork... back in the shop...door closed...heater on ! touching up the spots where the straps were... 1 of the fender bolts had broken off so Guy cut out the area & made a new section... makes me tired looking at the pix :rolleyes: Quote Link to comment
