VFR800
Too bad some assholes moved in and then decided the noise was too loud. They are currently suing to stop the touch and goes, morons. 4 Quote Link to comment
MikeRL411
I saw that on the news last night,,,,,, that steams my ass that people would do that,, or could do that. It's exactly like the ones who move in by a dragstrip then spend all their spare time trying to close it because of the noise. Same problem with Torrance CA Zamperini [google him!] Field and Santa Monica Airport! "But my realtor said that they were going to close it down" syndrome. If the field is there and you are stupid enough to buy under the flight path then [insert your favorite verb] you! 2 Quote Link to comment

Wow didn't know Spanaway shut down. I wonder if I moved next to a mosque and compained, would they close it? Quote Link to comment
q-tip
Wow didn't know Spanaway shut down. I wonder if I moved next to a mosque and compained, would they close it? Yeah closed it over 10 years ago, huge ass gated community now. It's a shame really. Quote Link to comment
paradime
91 Db limit at Laguna Seca for the same reason, but get this, the nearest house is over a 3/4 of a mile away. The CC&Rs should read: "You don't like the sound of a race motor at full song? You don't belong here. Move to Oxnard you P.O.S.". 5 Quote Link to comment
q-tip
Yeah, there were houses right next to this place, could here them loud and clear at my parents house 2 miles away. I would have been able to race the season after they closed it, shit sucked. I spent alot of time there working in the pits and never got to run the track. 2 Quote Link to comment
paradime
That's a bummer Q, having it snatched away right in front of you. An unrealized childhood dream like that can really haunt you. Quote Link to comment

KiloTango1200
An out of town trip interrupted this sequence. The Marines brought 5 Super Cobras through Denton TX and 2 of them broke. One of the Cobra pilots said the most challenging thing about a cost to coast deployment is keeping these old birds from breaking down. Oops! The CH-53 Super Stallions bring in the maintenance crews and parts to get the formation to it's destination. The CH-53 is one hell of a big helicopter. Clean up complete, time to move on. 3 Quote Link to comment
