Freshly Restored Grumman F7F Tigercats! And they will be based in San Diego County by a local collector!!

Notice their numbers? They are assembly line twins!

F7F Tigercats! The most beautiful aircraft ever built, IMHO. Sleek, twin radial engine fighter! Please excuse the sexist comments , but they have large breasts, slender waists, and long legs. Airplanes and automobiles belong to the female gender. They are almost always referred to as "She". I didn't start it, but it has been that way all my life. And what could be sexier than a HOT pair of twins? This is Airplane Porn after all.

The P-38 was unique in the fact that it did have a clockwise turning engine, and a counter clockwise turning engine.  I believe the engines had unique parts to each engine, and not just a camshaft.  Right engine pistons.   Left engine pistons.  A right engine block, a left engine block, A right and left crankshaft, very few parts were interchangeable between the two engines.

In other words, a P-38 needed more spare engine parts than the four engine bombers, because a spare engine for a bomber, could be put in almost any position, on either wing.
