Racer X 69
Listening on these in my shop tonight. Found on Craig's List. Now the Z cars have tunes while they rest. 5 Quote Link to comment
Duncan
Those are really, really, really really old.. Do they have the tweeters on the top of the speaker?? I would bet someone bought those overseas when they were in the service. Those were Vietnam-era speakers sold through the PX to Armed Forces personnel. I was driving cars when these were new. 3 hours ago, Duncan said: Do they have the tweeters on the top of the speaker?? No. There is a horn tweeter, two small paper cone tweeters, a paper cone midrange and woofer. A five speaker four way equaliser setup. The sound is awesome, even in the shop with a less than ideal setting. 3 hours ago, Duncan said: I would bet someone bought those overseas when they were in the service. The ones who went to Japan, or Germany, sent back lots of cool stereo gear. And the guys in Germany sent a lot of shoeboxes full of hash too. I was in on the tail end of Vietnam, but was stationed in Germany. I remember those grilles. The barracks were full of them. When I got out, I worked for many years in the Hi-Fi Stereo business, and never saw any of those other than the military outlets. Haven't seen those since then... They are cool, though. I haven't heard the name Sansui in years either, come to think of it... 🙂 2 Quote Link to comment
