Those are really, really, really really old..  Do they have the tweeters on the top of the speaker??

I would bet someone bought those overseas when they were in the service.  Those were Vietnam-era speakers sold through the PX to Armed Forces personnel.

Come on. I was driving cars when these were new.

No. There is a horn tweeter, two small paper cone tweeters, a paper cone midrange and woofer. A five speaker four way equaliser setup.

The sound is awesome, even in the shop with a less than ideal setting.

For sure. I didn't get invited to play army for my uncle, but most of the guys my age did. The ones who went to Japan, or Germany, sent back lots of cool stereo gear.

And the guys in Germany sent a lot of shoeboxes full of hash too.

I was in on the tail end of Vietnam, but was stationed in Germany.  I remember those grilles. The barracks were full of them.  When I got out, I worked for many years in the Hi-Fi Stereo business, and never saw any of those other than the military outlets.  Haven't seen those since then...

They are cool, though.  I haven't heard the name Sansui in years either, come to think of it...  🙂

I need to pull my Sansui Speakers out of storage and set them up in the garage! They sound really nice.
