TENDRIL
So the machine shop is telling me, they need to bore out my block in my ka24de, to .5mm over so my question is do I get Pistons or piston rings to match? Link to comment
TENDRIL
http://m.ebay.com/itm/321427147609# Pic 7of 8. Are the rings I'm referring to Link to comment
Laecaon
pistons and rings... pistons and rings... Link to comment
TENDRIL
Correct me if I'm wrong but if the hole is 89.5 and the piston is 89.5 and the rings std for 89.5 wouldn't it be to tight Link to comment
TENDRIL
The only 89.5 pistons I can find, are upwards of 600 $ Link to comment
TENDRIL
Just sorta wondering why make them if you can't use them (.50) rings Link to comment
Laecaon
pistons are not perfectly the diameter they are supposed to be. Machine shops will not bore the block to the size they say until they have the piston to bore the block to. It has to be tight, but right. Regardless, even with the logic you stated, your current pistons wouldn't work if the bore was made larger. PISTONS AND RINGS. This coming from someone who just bought $650 forged pistons. I better not have screwed that up. Link to comment
Laecaon
you can use bigger rings, with bigger pistons... Link to comment
