Fitment does look great!  Are you planning to cut the door out around the flare, so the flare is stationary?

I don't think you can cut it that high. Don't think the door latch will still work? My guess is he's cutting the flares in half. That's precisely why the flare has two bolts right next to each other at the top, so you can cut it in half.

I'm not familiar with the four door mechanism. I am familiar with what everybody else does.  I was just thinking it would look better with the flare in one piece and the door cut to fit.  It would be different than what everyone else does. I like different.

datsunfreak is correct I am going to slice the flare in half, one side on the door.  I think it would be possible to cut the door around the flare, but it would take quite a bit more work ;)

I got the door cut:

If you look at how his door is cut you can see you'd have to cut into the area where the door latch mechanism is to do it that way, though. It is different, but also a lot of extra work.

But I understand. Sometimes cool is worth it.

I've been busier than usual with work this week, but I have managed to draw out my cuts on the driver side:

Today when I got home a nice box of doo-dads had shown up from McMaster-Carr:

Aluminum riv-nuts with bonded rubber washers under the flange, black oxide bolts, SS rubber backed outer washers, rubber inner washers and some 'bulb seal' for the welting.  I also picked up a quality tool to install the rivnuts.

Hopefully I'll find some moar time for the cut-off wheel over this coming weekend...

Money well spent.

I did the flares on my 1200 this way. Makes it so much nicer if you have to take them off more than once.  B)

I don't have a part number, but I ordered them through Specialty Engineering in Canada with their autocross spec rear springs a few years ago.

I will probably have the flares at the meet :) I'm about out of masking tape though ;)
