510T
You have tires yet?? What size?? Today I ordered (2) BFG Rivals 225/45R15. They should be here Tuesday, hopefully get em mounted up same day. I am still making plans for the flare install. I have a guy lined up to do the finish welding on the tubs. I plan on doing the cutting, fitting and tacking myself. Right now I'm hoping to run a square tire setup but only ordered 2 just in case. Worst case I stretch a 205/50 on the fronts, kinda doubt I will have to do that though. This weekend I will order my hardware and some welting. Speaking of welting, another thread about that stuff brought to my attention that it is available in various colors. Should I just go black or try to color match a darkish blue? I will be painting the flares to match the car for sure. Quote Link to comment
KlassicMotion
I think black will look fine. I doubt the likely hood that the blue matches. I'm assuming the two blues will clash. Worse case, just paint the black with the same blue as the car. 1 Quote Link to comment

zat
Got to test fit today, no tires. With the flares taped up: I am going to run the rears with a 10mm spacer most likely and the fronts require a 5mm spacer to clear the calipers. They are oictured with the spacers on. What you think? wicked setup, mate! 2 Quote Link to comment
510T
Thanks zat! Got the 2 tyres mounted up, it looks like I should be good to go with 225's up front too. :) I ordered my mounting hardware today also; Black oxide coated SS button head allen screws and some crazy rubber / brass rivet nuts that looked fun to try out, along with some rubber bulb seal for in between the flare and body. Soon!!! 2 Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
Sorry if I missed it, but are those Z31 rotors/hubs? And is this on 280ZX struts? I have that combo and was wondering if it fits under some 15" wheels. I wanted to run the 15x8 RKRs, so I reeeeally hope that's the combo you're running. ^_^ Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
Also curious to know how you like the G-Force Rival when you get it on the road. They also make a 205/50-15 that would work a treat on the 15x8. B) Quote Link to comment

IMHO these are the best struts if you don't need the ZX's narrow track width. Also curious to know how you like the G-Force Rival when you get it on the road. Would be perfect on an 8" I agree! I use them primarily for auto-x but I thought they were great on the street too. Quote Link to comment
510T
Trying to show the size difference, they are very close. In person it is fairly obvious though. The top and bottom of the tire sandwich are the 205's on a 6" and the middle is the 225 on the 9". 1 Quote Link to comment

Should be the same diameter rotors as yours if the calipers fit that strut and rotor. This will be my second set of Rivals. 510T
With these calipers I have been able to fit every 15" wheel I have tried, only required spacers to clear the outer face of the caliper. Quote Link to comment

Same here. My 16" SSRs got close but that's because of the design of the valve stem. Took a 3mm spacer to clear the caliper face. Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
And thanks again! Was worried I'd have to ditch these brakes to run those wheels... Of course, assuming your caliper bolted up without an adapter? Do you know the diameter of that rotor? 1 Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
Is that a yes? Quote Link to comment
510T
Sorry, yes the caliper bolted right on no adapter and the rotor is 280mm diameter. Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
Sorry, yes the caliper bolted right on no adapter and the rotor is 280mm diameter. Cool. Mine are 275 I believe. No major difference then. Quote Link to comment
510T
Cool, Is the Z31 hub / rotor floating or captive like the older stuff, and do you know the rotor width by chance? Quote Link to comment

510T
Yes and yes, you just need a bump steer spacer or adapter to step up the size of the raised part of the steering arm to fit the larger hole in the M30 strut. Same as S12 stuff. Quote Link to comment
