uberkevin
The hood needs to be welded down to the inner hood frame pretty badly because of it the hood walbals pretty bad. But yeah it still looks great I think she's amazing! The bed also needs some big help with the welder too look. This picture was taken right after i put the bumpers on but didn't get them tight or even yet. 1 Quote Link to comment

Skib
The hood needs to be welded down to the frame pretty badly because of it the hood walbals pretty bad. if your talking about the hood frame work, dont. dont weld it or youl just warp the shit out of the hood. they make glues for that, just like it was glued from the factory. 2 Quote Link to comment
uberkevin
Haha oh yeah I never did weld it. But the shaking it seems is coming from the transmission. 1 Quote Link to comment
uberkevin
But thank you, I won't ever weld it. Do you know the name of a type? 1 Quote Link to comment

Bolts are tight. there's a third gear sensor on the trans that activates the second set of points for some emmisions crap. Unplug it. 1 Quote Link to comment
uberkevin
Never was pluged in... ?? 1 Quote Link to comment
Phixius
Hmmm, mine had that third gear problem and I just started unplugging things untill it stopped... found out later it was the third gear switch... another thing was when I lowered my truck with 4in blocks I had a weird shake/vibration... found out later when swapping my driveline, my slip joint was rusted shut and didn't slide anymore... maybe this?.. 1 Quote Link to comment

uberkevin
So i've been doing a little work on MasterChief not as much as id like but still Here's a dashboard if been working on for a week or so, now that i don't have a job I don't mind sanding a shit ton. The filler im using is just a padded dash filler i got off line. sanding...sanding.. sanding. Under it as you can see is my tailgate that i'm also sanding down. I want to get all the ugly little dings in it out and get it looking great again. heres the tailgate now. Also got a powder coating gun from eastwood.com. I was pretty stoked to finally power coat something so I picked and old heater cover i had. Its baking as i type so you'll see how the first coat is. here a tease... 2 Quote Link to comment
uberkevin
Oh I took off my door panels to make new ones, I haven't got to far on this just cut one of the new panels out of some thin plywood i got. I'm a really picky person about little shit so I know that I wont put something in my truck I don't like or isn't to my satisfaction. Like the dash board or these panels. here ya go. if your wondering what the thing in the back ground is? well its a home for this.. 1 Quote Link to comment
uberkevin
So it came out like shit but its because i didn't sand it go enough. here it is. I'll sand blast it this next time around. 2 Quote Link to comment
uberkevin
As far as the dashboard I'm about 85% done. I need to get some leather or something less expensive, Any ideas where and what to use to cover the dash. heres the dash now, smooooth. 2 Quote Link to comment

jrock4224
hey on the heater piece.. thats a reaction from baking the paint under the powder when ever possible u should strip to bare metal ....the only thing powder goes over is powder or bare metal...i know your employement situtaion sdosnt allow it but u should get a 520 metal dash top then powdercoat it...but i agree i like the suede.....another cool one but prolly exensive would be like a textured leather ... 1 Quote Link to comment
uberkevin
Suede isn't to much I think I'll head over to Joann's fabrics And get some there. It was something like 7 bucks a yard. I need little more the 4 feet. A yard is 3 something right? And the heater peace i sanded down to metal But on the side that looks ugly was some surface rust I sanded it down a ton but got tired of doing it and really wanted To powder coat. My dumb fault. Lol I think I'm going to continue refurbishiny more 521 dashes I know where at least two more are its not to hard. Once I get this suede Ill finish my dash and get some oics. And I do in fact Know where a good 520 is sitting in a junkyard dash is in amazing shape. I don't have an oven big enough to bake it. Dude wanted 90 big ones for the whole dash. Quote Link to comment
