But i got her in the garage! after getting the Mothernlaws Trans Am out 'Shes had this thing since High Schoo!!' With MasterChief in here I know I'll get down and dirty on her. Haha :w00t: Ive been stuck Ratsun folk I have a shit job that I don't even call a job, im lucky if i get 15 hours a week and I'm losing money...I know I must move to Olympia about this time next year and I have no where near half the moneys I need, I'm beyond stoked about moving to Olympia with the 521 and the girlfriend but I must make more moneys. wayno
Wow, look at that, a complete smog setup with the idle adjustment screw thingy on the intake manifold. Quote Link to comment
uberkevin
Could you place elaborate sir?? Lol Quote Link to comment
wayno
Them two big screws with springs have a purpose, I just don't see that stuff often, as most remove all that stuff to never be seen again. If you know how to adjust that stuff, it should make no difference in performance, at least that is what I have been told. :) Quote Link to comment
Sealik
K14 intake.....larger ports than the 220, that is good PCV valve should be located in the center of the balance tube....as seen here Quote Link to comment
uberkevin
So it looks to me I'm missing something... If mine is indeed the same as yours. When looking at mine I don't see anything to pull the throttle, I'm looking in the middle of your picture Sealik. Quote Link to comment
wayno
See the rusty shaft near the PCV valve with the two holes in it, that is the connection for the 510 twist throttle. Quote Link to comment
oldskoolvws
Does anyone have choke cables for these now or a crossover? Maybe motorcycle cables? Quote Link to comment
wayno
Ralleye enterprises has them, they sell generic ones, but they are not cheap. There are others that sell them also, you just have to search. Quote Link to comment
Sealik
Depends on the application...the "twist throttle" can be cut off and a Hitachi carb trunnion can be welded in it's place, as I did Utilizes a stock throttle cable....no bar from firewall Mine are pulling from the bottom because they are 46s....was easier to retrofit that way than pulling from the top of the IM Different setups Quote Link to comment
Sealik
Does anyone have choke cables for these now or a crossover? Maybe motorcycle cables? I used throttle cables from a dual carbed sled......it worked, but I eventually bought some 240Z choke cables Quote Link to comment
uberkevin
Gots to make that bitch twist is all huh? ..... how to do that?? Quote Link to comment
uberkevin
I'll do lots of searching tonight for twist throttle Sus. And also do some homework on what I've got. So I know. Quote Link to comment
wayno
I made my own setup with what you have there. You can see on the back of the pulley, what is left of the twisty part, I cut off the ears that had the holes and then mounted the pulley on the end of the twisty. Here is the other side with the bolts, I threaded the twisty side, I also drilled that throttle pulley for the throttle cable, as it is actually a hangglider part. The throttle cable mount is just a 90 degree bracket that I just twisted around till it fit what I needed. The throttle bracket mount and you can see that I cut one side of the pulley to allow the throttle cable end into the hole I drilled. It has worked issue free for over 15 years. Quote Link to comment
uberkevin
Awesome Wayno! Thanks a bunch! This should help me a lot in making my own. I now need a round pulley kinda like yours. Quote Link to comment
wayno
Look on carbs at the wrecking yards, sometimes they have the parts you need, and they just unbolt from the carb, I made that back in the 90s before I knew where to look for parts myself. You can quite likely buy what you need also, you just have to find out where, and someone on ratsun does know where. Quote Link to comment
oldskoolvws
On ebay all day long. That's my virtual pick n pull. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_kw=throttle+pulley Quote Link to comment

That's a deal for a 520 dash if complete, and then you get the delete plate for free, I would jump on that now. Look for what you need on all the older stuff with downdraft carbs, fact is I bet even EFI setups have what you need, just look at everything. Look for something like this below, a lot of vehicles are going to have stuff that looks like this. Quote Link to comment
uberkevin
Maybe one of these..... also I picked up the 520 dash! Oics will come soon. Quote Link to comment
oldskoolvws
gotta be careful on those non-indexed ones... Quote Link to comment
