Boaty
Well the 510 was neglected today. More pressing matters to attend to. Took out the DSLR and the laptop, thethered up - and took some eclipse shots from the Annular Eclipse today. Hope you like 'em. :) 3 Quote Link to comment

DanielC
I got an occasional glimpse of it through cloud cover. I could sort of see a part of the moon in front of the sun. Quote Link to comment
ArchetypeDatsun
In 2 years there will be a total solar eclipse that should be fun to watch. Quote Link to comment

Ranman72
we also watched it through a welders mask #10 #14 and #20 lenses (#20 2x #10) took a pic but didnt turn out well the third pic is #20 lens NICE Boaty well done Thanks for sharing Quote Link to comment
Boaty
I had a #10 welders glass... I found that it was more of a PITA than just stopping down the aperture and speeding up the shutter speed. I had mad reflection issues with the welding glass, but I managed to get one having it at just the right angle. Thanks for all the props guys! Appreciate it. First time taking pictures of the sun - it was a challenge. If ONLY I had a telescopic lens or a really long prime. I really want a 5D Mark 3, hell a Mark 2 would be nice. I really need a full-frame for the kind of pictures I like shooting (night photography)... one day. When the 510 is done.. nevarr. Quote Link to comment
The Dat-side
Great shots, im glad you took them, I forgot about this. Woulda been cool to do a time laps with my stop-motion program. Quote Link to comment
Boaty
I was going to do a time lapse, but stupid me - I left my tripod at home. I did all of these hand-held (not hard, 1/4000s shutter speed on most). Tether to laptop, configure the time-lapse duration/shutter delay, crack a burr and get a tan. Lol. Quote Link to comment
HRH
Dammitall, it rained all day here too, I missed it. Quote Link to comment
KELMO
Nice oics....got to watch it from the back yard.....looked through a dust pan, how redneck is that? What can I say, the cereal box thing just wasn't workin for me 1 Quote Link to comment
freetheoranges
Better view than from here, really great pics! I used two pieces of cardboard, white paper, foil and a pin. Argh had I thought of a welders mask! Was small, but impressive timelapse. Quote Link to comment
