RaptorReed
Hey everyone, I'm Tim and I don't currently own any Dattos, but in light of one of my buddies (tristingrind) picking up one I'm sure I'll be learning about them soon enough. I do however own a '76 Mitsubishi Colt Galant Coupe and '77 Colt Galant Wagon, used to have a 91 Galant VR4 but due to some serious cancer issues it was in my best interest to strip and scrap at the time. I believe it was Bananahamuck (sorry, I forget your name lol) I met at the NissanParts/MitsuParts meet in Olympia back in August, real cool guy! I was the lone Classic Mitsubishi surrounded by Z cars and 510s that day lol. I know there's several other WA folks on here so...I'm located way up in Oak Harbor, WA, but often enough venture down to the Seattle-Tacoma area periodically. I'm sure some have seen the wagon at a few meets here and there or on the road.Pics! We all love pics! The Wagz! Before I swapped the gawdy stock front bumper out for a '75 chrome bumper.Aussie Amber tails installed. And my Coupe which as of late is under going a 4G63t 2.3l stroker swap 29 Quote Link to comment

bananahamuck
I was on here ( what`s the chances lol ) last night after Craig Ferguson getting a 411 fix , and there was only about 10 or less members, saw the name and kept thinking why does that call sign ring a bell so much..Funny thing is i normally check out general-shenanigans first .. And probably the first time my screen name has been mentioned with out " will you shut the hell up " attached.. So all you midwest east coast guys that say i want a ( insert style ) Datsun but they are all to far away.. this crazy bastard bought that wagon and drove the damn thing home from " your side " ..It`s a great story Welcome , to you man.... bananahamuck
That was weird ,,i got caught right in the middle of a DATZEN time warp type of a deal right there.. spooky. Quote Link to comment
RaptorReed
Thanks for Welcomes everyone! ]2eDeYe - You will probably see the Yellow car most often towards Summer! I have a bunch of Aussie parts to install (Quad headlights & grill, Small bumpers, and cooler tails) Lol yes, I bought the Wagon in South Carolina, then proceeded to drive it back for its' maiden voyage. Planned on making it to the Old School Reunion, but due to carb and dizzy issues upon arriving in SC I had to spend a week and my friend's house troubleshooting, now it has a Electronic Dizzy and clean carb! The wagon is currently sitting at 66,800 on the clock from the time I picked it up in June with 54,850miles. Took me about 4.5 days to get home and the only issue I encountered the whole trip was simply, it has a single core radiator and these cars were never built to do a constant speed above 55mph on the highway lol. It made it all through the Appalachians and Rockies just fine, Idaho and Eastern Oregon were the more challenging moments. Not bad for a car that had pretty much been sitting and not driven more than 500 miles since 1998. Somewhere near the WA/OR border when I diverted off the highway and headed towards the tri-cities to cut through the state. Quote Link to comment
INDY510
. Damn that's a really nice picture ..... .... .. . I love the lines on this wagon,, , you coulda put Datsun emblems on it and fooled us .... .... .. ever think about going lower?? .... ... . .. just some wider tires/rims would make it handle alot better Quote Link to comment
RaptorReed
Yes I have, but one project at a time ! The Coupe will be going 5 lug with Starion front hubs and a narrowbody Toyota Hilux rear end. I have a set of 14" Enkei 92s for the wagon, need some tires for them though. The wagon is minty fresh on the inside with only a couple of the usual tears on the driver's seat These are the cosmetic pieces I had shipped over from Nowra, Australia for the Coupe. Aussie Tails > Cooler and cleaner than the USDM ones. Quote Link to comment
Tristin
Tim, I fixed that ridiculous flare... here you go, now its a proper image. Quote Link to comment
hacked521
i personally liked the flare. anyways, raptorreed, nice cars man. especially that coupe, love the lines on it. Quote Link to comment
RaptorReed
well here's some progress on the Coupe.. bye bye 1.6l 4g32 hello 4g63 There's no wheel gap in the rear anymore with the Narrowbody Toyota Hilux rear end in it now. Waiting to hear back from my Aussie friends on some more parts for this thing! And now no interior. Changing out all my pedals too, converting the brakes to regular non-boosted brakes, the clutch to hydraulic, and the gas pedal to cable (had throttle linkage garbage) Quote Link to comment
bananahamuck
Updates ?? we need them And honestly i liked the picture with the flare better also.. Quote Link to comment

RaptorReed
SoCal has all the 1st gens of course..lol! Nice Collection! Updates ?? we need them And honestly i liked the picture with the flare better also.. Lol, well when I tore down the interior, you guys were at the Graffiti Garage meet, I was going to roll over for a bit, but Tristin was having some carb issues with his 510, so I just stayed busy on the car. Right now I'm at a standstill till I pool some funds together for gaskets, belts, oil pump, water pump, pulleys, intake, turbo, cutting tunnel up for the Supra trans, and purchase a Wilwood Clutch/Brake Pedal Assembly. To allow room for my intake manifold, I'm converting to non-boosted brakes. Radiator is sitting on my counter here at home, gotta bring it down to the shop Saturday, oh and I still need Early Starion front struts and the later wide body 5 lug hubs to complete the 5 lug swap. On the bright side it is nearing completion. The way the rear sits right now, means I don't have to lower it all lol, the Toyota rear is sitting on the stock leafs and with those 16s wheel gap is pretty much gone, however I believe it will settle down in the front and level out once the motor is complete and the trans is installed. Tires that are on those 16s are 225/55s, but since they are flat and almost bald they look like slicks. Nice Mitsu action here. One of our members, cityhunter, has a Mitsu Debonaire!!! Talk about OG!! Lol, I know Cityhunter, but I believe nothing will become of the debonair, because of its' current state and resources being slim for that particular year..However he does have several other cars waiting to come over soon!
