Leche
Man I wish there was a place near me that could remove the paint from my panels like that! It would've saved me a ton of time. 1 Quote Link to comment

Hogie's works at the shop thats doing the work for me and posted the goods before me, LOL. As for your question, I haven't decided to do the cab but for sure the bed. Having this process done, it takes all the guess work out of it of having bad spots. And we did find some. Couple spots of rust and some extra holes from something Here a some closer up pics Edited August 27, 2020 by Farmer 5 Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
I kinda want to acid dip a car and then just clear coat that. The acid washed metal has a neat texture/coloration to it. 2 Quote Link to comment
Farmer
I was thinking about that too. 1 Quote Link to comment

Charlie69
Get on it Farmer. In my opinion the body and paint are the hardest part of the build, but the most rewarding when done. Quote Link to comment

Farmer
Have you guys/gals ever go out to the garage or where ever your project is and sit there for a long time Staring at it? ME neither....NOT Well, I've decided to go a different route. Mainly the frame issue. I was going to swap out my frame for a std cab /shortbed one, then shorten the bed. Did it once back in '92. Now im just going to keep it the way it is. That alone will save me at least 2yrs of time, money and grief (how my projects go). So I started to clear out the storage unit, the bed, so I can start to remove it. I've already freed up the bolts and just have them hanging(did that 2 yrs ago). Have the bed dipped like the other recent parts after welding up holes. Hoping to talk with fellow ratsun member about rear suspension ( already in contact). Remove cab so I can get to the whole frame, to remove unwanted pieces and clean it up. Dip cab after finishing up holes via mig. And have some one spray epoxy primer on all pieces dipped. I think that would be a good goal to get to by Canby. Here's a pic of bed and roll bar. Roll bar for sale! Looking at the picture, I've never notice how beat up my wheel wells are 3 Quote Link to comment
Farmer
I should state that this wont happen until I sell my old work van then buy or build a shed/storage big enough to store work items and at least the bed or cab. 1 Quote Link to comment

Farmer
Like to get the rest of the holes filled up in engine compartment. Holes filled in dipped parts and rust repair. Get them primed. Get cab dipped and bed. Work on back suspension, the list goes on. 3 Quote Link to comment
