"No ma'am, we don't sell blinker fluid." ... "No ma'am, no one sells blinker fluid." ... "Why not? Because it doesn't exist." ... "No ma'am, I am not, as you say, shitting you. It was a joke from a Saturday Night Live skit years ago." ... "Yes ma'am, your husband is most likely being an asshole, a joker, or an asshole joker." ... "Frying pans are traditional, Fred Meyer's carries cast iron." ... "You too ma'am. Good day." I sort of just stared at the dude and he shot me a Buddy Christ thumbs up. Half the store just lost their shit at that moment. His boss, who was obviously on the verge of tears only said, "Next time, language." and walked away shaking his head in disbelief. 1 Quote Link to comment

We USED to carry Victor Reinz, but they switched after so many hillbilly morons kept asking if we had Fel-Pro. Now we have KP and other good Japanese gaskets available in the altrom line, but still not nearly enough in my opinion. Made it through the day though. We'll see how tomorrow is. Ask the parts guy inside, he gives me a computer printout of the location of a silver 1980 Datsun 210. Couldn't find that but there is a silver Datsun 310 where it said ... double fail. The I get a rear-end from a Datsun 510. Bring it up for the 50% off sale this weekend. He says because it is wagon, it is the higher Truck price. I go back out and remove the pumpkin (cause it's half the price of the whole rearend) and come back in. This time a different guy says "wagon, same price as car". ARRRRGH! His boss, who was obviously on the verge of tears only said, "Next time, language." and walked away shaking his head in disbelief. it does exist. there is actually a product sold called blinker fluid. some vehicles(usually minivans) come from the factory with a washer fluid reservoir cap positioned right in or above the tail light housing. many soccer moms do not know what this fluid is, but they have heard of blinker fluid, see the fluid is low when unloading groceries, and are stupid enough to buy a product called blinker fluid from Walmart rather than buy normal windshield washer concentrate. With that said, half of the parts people I deal with when ordering parts for the shop I work at do not know a u-joint from their bung hole. Most of the parts people around where I live are incompetent idiots...which works out, cause that is what the majority of their customer base is. Chances are when I walk into a Napa or Autozone, it is because no one else has the part I am looking for, and I will already know if your store has it in stock or you will have to special order it(provided your inventory and website are up to date)...but having worked retail for a bit before returning to automotive based jobs, I can say customer service in a retail setting sucks because many people are stupid. The Portland South PnP seems to have one dude who is at least courteous, the rest at that store are just sort of dickish. One of the fucks is having a conversation in Spanish, but when he gets off the phone, he mumbles "fucking spics". WHAT!?
