exhaust pipes

okayguy.jpg

... hopefully able to get quoted in under 400 dollar range... for standard pipe.

Some shops want 5-700$ for a thin wall steel standard exhaust ... errrrrr .... then there is muffler selection .... errrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Build your own if too much :) ... ( adapters can cost $$$ though .... pipe itself for cheapo is cheap)

Sounds like a good deal man

You can weld! !!!! Ive seen your beads ... go do it! ...

oh wait you have a guy that does it for cheap!

Do that instead

( i leave exhaust and driveline to pros usually ... unless me being el cheapo ;) )

But ... learn things you can on your own

people rely on others for things

Or kits for cars

Which is all fine and respectable for resale value and project benchmarking.

I am doing a lots of things on my own

i never thought i would do

i am glad i am as i know i can do 90% of the stuff i was previously afraid of (at your age)

I am doing a lot of that stuff now

Don't bullshit us ... for your age ... your way ahead of the game ;)

I like your 510 ... its really clean ...

you got a helliva deal on it...

and you're doing tasteful things to it...

Keep going dude!

I have a friend that lives on the east coast now

Hes a body man ...

I asked him how he deals with all the rot

He says " just cut it out... matchup ...weld in and keep moving !"

:)

Good advice DTP, and Thanks! i figure it's better to learn early on, rather than later. You gotta start somewhere ... still, won't hurt to take a class at the community college on welding :D

though i MIG weld (for now) it's pretty easy to teach yourself, just do what is necessary to make it look like the pros!

The real challenge will come with TIG welding aluminum and chromoly

The Z is going to need alot of welding, reinforcements, cage, and the intake mani i have to fab... that's when i'll know if i can weld.. :D

Won't go into too much detail, but im thinking of practically tearing out the floorpans and welding in some tube that goes from frame rail to frame rail up and over the tranny to reinforce the body

Whooo!! I remember a while ago you mentioning you wanted a 521. Good to see you finally got your hands on one!

More oics please!..... or will those require another thread? :D

i will get more oics soon ;)

had to hitch a ride with my mom to/from school today  No (functioning) car <_<

This 521 needs a master clutch cylinder and fuel lines to Drive! :D the paint is beautiful!

oh and i asked you guys to guess the mileage... 3000 miles... according to odometer.... anywhere i can check on the net to see if that's true? IE records or something?

Link to comment

^^^ you're right, it just rolls over at the 100,000 mark on the 521's as well.... or 200,000 mark :P

I saw some others mention in another thread regarding mileage to check out the wear on the pedals. It'll at least give you a rough idea of how much time someone's feet have spent giving them a workout.

the inside is practically new, shift boot looks brand new, dash is cracked but that's because of it sitting, floormats seem new.. idk i'll take a alot of oics and let you guys decide, it's all real dusty though cause it was sitting next to dirt fields
