Okay - Due to pressure from the Ratsun community I am not cutting up my '68. :P

I am planning to do it "Icehouse style", quick build Rat Rod, get it running and drive it!

What is your idea of a quick build? Lower it and run it stock?

I am going to fix a few things, lower it, be sure the brakes are good and get it running (stock), THEN drive it. I'm not going to paint the body, I'm going run it Ratsun style!

How quick can I get it done? We'll see! I already got started. :frantics:

I'm glad the wasp's had moved out! That is a HUGE nest!

the plan was to just leave it a beater and drive the wheels off of it

"DAMN!!!!!!" I usually make fun of L motors but this baby runs like a stripped ass Ape

Now to decide what engine to install in it. I want it lower than my other

I picked up a different engine Don't tell anyone though it's top secret

I know what you are thinking..... Why a V6! Well let me tell you.... Lets add up all the engines I've been involved with putting in. Turbo and none turbo! 3 SR's turbo's 2 SR none turbo's ,1 CA's turbo and 1 none turbo, 2 turbo KA's and countless none turbo's, and god knows how many L's! I'm just burnt out on 4 bangers, I want to stare at something else. I really thought the turbo L would have looked cool but the more I thought about it the more I wanted to do a motor I have never done (wiring doesn't count) So I've decided to do a turbo VG

Nice Bob! Might be cool to wet sand through the red in a few areas to expose more of the white underneath. Man I need a welder!

I love that idea Fisch!

Do you guys remember the 4 door 510 parts car I bought?

Well it's coming in handy now! So far I've taken the hood, trunk lid and gas cap cover. Soon I'll take the windshield. I worked until 2am last night. It is looking pretty cool! I wire brushed a lot of things and brushed on rust killer.

I'll post up more pics soon. :P

Okay - my wife is telling me that I need to get ready to go to the SCCA Awards Banquet. So here are a few pics of the progress so far.

Some time ago I bought an extra '68 grille for my '68 wagon. These grilles are unique to the 1968's. I put the original from my wagon on the 2 door! Good thing I had an extra! I'm doing the hood in black with a rising sun, like the gas cap cover. :D

Nice work Bob! I bet you are having a ton of fun knowing that this isn't going to be a pristine build, and that you are just rocking on a ratter. Less pressure AND I actually find a ratted out 510 with some cool wheels more interesting than fully done cars sometimes. More character!

Keep it up!
